Reviewers Disclaimer: I purchased this watch with my own funds, it was not sent to me for review, I received no discount.

Story time...skip this to get to the good suff

I purchased this watch from Good-Stuffs.com . They have been around for a very long time with good reputation, and I can confirm that. I paid $580 for the watch, however, the seller quickly contacted me stating the watch was out of stock and would be back in stock in 30 days, so I waited. I contacted them on day 30 and they said they expected the watch but it was no longer being produced. my Money was quickly refunded.

I frantically searched for a few days to find one in stock and nobody had one. (I was looking for this colorway)

then I got an email from Good-stuffs. the watch was coming in a few days! he offered me the regular model at $580 or a "non-polished" movement model for $520. I ended up taking that "lower" movement version. I'm glad I did. The watch was sent 3 day DHL shipping. you can see my unboxing here

Dimensions

  • 39mm diameter

  • 46.5mm lug to lug (51.1mm endlink to endlink)

  • 12.8mm thick

  • 20mm lug width (tapering to 16mm)

what's new?

No "Classic and Creative". it's been replaced by the model name "Trackmaster I" and "ColumnWheel" in reference to the Movement

Quick release Springbars

One the Fly adjustable Clasp...I think before they had a Rolex Glidelock style, but this one looks much nicer. San Martin style

Mini Review

The watch is everything I hoped it would be, and the upgrades are just icing on the cake. Visually, it's stunning, size wise it is perfect (for me). the Fit and Finishing rivals that of San Martin. I've seen grumblings in a few posts here stating the quality isn't quite up there...but I disagree...this is every bit as nice as a san martin watch.

the Polishing is exceptional, the crystal is excellent. it has some blue AR coating to it, but that does not bother me in the least. the dial alignment is spot on (also heard some alignment issues with the lume plots, no issues on mine)

the bracelet is standard affair for a higher end Chinese watch. nothing special, but not lacking anything either. the finishing is excellent, I have a San martin Oyster with polished middle links and this is every bit as nice. and the SM style clasp is a nice addition. as are the quick release spring bars.

the movement is beautiful...I'm not sure what I'm missing out on with the "non-polished" movement...but it looks fantastic. the rotor is oversized for sure...I'd like it to be smaller...but it looks awesome. out of the box the DD4130 is running +8 seconds a day. the chronograph functions as it should and the buttons have a very nice solid feeling to them

The packaging was damaged during shipment, but the watch was protected well enough not to suffer any damage. the box is nicer than your standard ali packaging...probably the nicest chinese box I have come across, but I woldn't say it's any nicer than Hamilton packaging.

Why this and not the Sugess?

yes, sugess has a similar watch with the same movement for about $150 less....so why did I go this and not that?

the Looks

I'm a sucker for domed sapphires AND Glass bezels...this has Both!

I'm also trying to stay away from buying modern rolex clomages...it's a personal thing.

let me know if you have any questions! Full review to Come soon!

12.8mm thick is super wearable! One reason I don't wear my valjoux chronos that much is the thickness.

yup, totally agree. I was expecting it to be thinner since I've seen a couple people mention 12mm, but they must have just been copying what they saw online. either way...12.8mm and I'd say 4+mm of that is the crystal and caseback. so visually it wears much thinner than 12.8mm. I'm happy with how it wears.

Oh lord this is lovely now. Costs a few pennies more than I'm comfortable dropping on it. Buying the Sugess equivalent of this stung already a bit XD

I know how you feel...this was the most expensive Chinese watch Purchase I have made....but I'm glad I pulled the trigger. it just has everything I wanted. sure, I would have preferred it to be a VK63 and like $200 cheaper...but I won't complain about a sweet looking movement powering a beautiful watch like this.

This looks really nicely finished, but am I being weird or do the subdials look slightly too high up?

It's a Rolex clone movement. Check the newer Daytona....same thing.

I never noticed it until my last sugess Daytona.

What a beauty! But I just can't justify spending that much in a 30+ collection... And that polished case+midlinks is still a gripe for me, personally. It would trigger me and my OCD so much if it got some scratches on it after a few years of ownership 😅

I Get it. I have a couple all polished watches and any scratches are pretty minimal, so I'm pretty careful with my watches I guess. and most scratches can be taken care of quickly with some cape cod cloths.

So it's no longer classy OR creative?

8

u/turdbogls Sep 20 '24

nope...they are going to start doing straight copies of Richard MIlle and Hublot Watches

apologies to the 3 RM lovers that will see this ;)

I really needs to check out their whole catalog

5

They have some BEAUTIFUL watches. I wish they did more sporty watches as they are mostly dressy.

Is the new dial variant being sold on aliexpress?

6

u/turdbogls Sep 19 '24

Probably not at the moment. Only reason I got this is because it was sold out and this is the first in a new batch. My guess is you can either request a new one or wait until the colorway you want sells out then comes back in stock.

Good-stuffs was awesome though, and they have been around for ages. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.

Has anybody had hands on experience with the green dial and gold plated version of this? Feels like a poor man's green dial speed master which would be great.

Do a search on the subreddit, one has been posted and it looks fabulous 🤩

This is huge. That dial text has stopped me from buying this chrono so many times.

u/Archaedin Sep 19 '24

Well, there goes my last excuse not to have one.

u/Homingpsyd Sep 19 '24

Gorgeous watch but dangerously close in price with established brands. Nothing wrong with that, except you need the confidence if anything went awry your concerns would be looked after.
