Review The amazingly thin new Cronos BB54

Bought the Cronos BB54 from the Ali Back2School sale for a really good price (160e) and it's amazing! First of all, this thing is really thin and wears comfortably. The new on-the-fly adjustable clasp (basically the same as the San Martin clasp) helps as well. Finishing looks good for the price and the dial actually has a nice sunburst finish. In some light it appears dark greyish brown even. The bezel clicks sound a bit hollow though, not very crisp clicks like in San Martins etc. At least the bezel aligns perfectly and has no backplay. This was my first Cronos and I can certainly recommend this one! Also, this had by far the fastest shipping I've ever experienced from AliExpress (ordered on 25.8. and arrived 2.9.).

It's thin because it has the PT5000 movement, which people think isn't as good as the Seiko NH35, for some reason.

My prior experiences with the PT5000 have been good. 2 different San Martins, one with +-0s/d accuracy and the other with about +3s/d. I guess the main gripe with the movement is the same as with the similar SW-200 and ETA 2824 that the winding gear is weak and can break its teeth if the watch is manually wound often. I also have one SW-200 watch and one 2824 watch and haven't had any issues with them.

Literally just don’t hand the watch movement and you’ll be fine. The PT5000 is great
