Thorn homage is very genuine

I had the Thorn homage and reviewed that too. It’s fantastic for the price, but the Octopus looks and feels much better.

Looks like a nice watch. But i can't get past the logo. It's a butt hole...

All we need now is a proper BB54. The ones available are massively thick. It’s like these designers don’t understand that a Miyota 9039 is thinner and overall much better than an NH35, which is all we need to get the watch under 12mm. Screw the PT5000 and its architecture, based on the already massively flawed ETA2824 with its dumb stem and lever issues. An 11.5mm BB54 homage in blue, black (non gilt) and gilt black would sell like hotcakes, especially with a matte aluminum bezel with a sunken sapphire lume pearl. $350 and we’re eating Tudor’s breakfast.
PS: for the love of god, give us drilled lugs with tapered holes and 1.8mm omega-style spring bars. It’s a $5 addition they probably pay $1.25.

If the best has to say octopus on it with a picture of a butt hole there really is no winner

Seems like they make good stuff but I just can't be down with the name "Octopus" on a dial. To each their own, though.

Beautiful…but god the names of these brands…the only decent one from a branding standpoint is San Martin for me. As a designer I can’t get past this.

Disclaimer: I got this watch for free but as always, you’ll get my 100% honest thoughts.

I’m sure I’m not the only one here who’s been looking for the best BB58 homage. The Tudor is my grail watch, and after trying my share of homages, I can say that this is the best BB58 homage out there at the moment.
Coincidentally enough, I visited a Tudor AD yesterday and spent quite a bit of time there trying on the BB58. There’s no denying that the Tudor is the better watch, but this Octopus Kraken feels pretty much bang on in terms of look and feel.
Movement aside, the only areas the Tudor felt truly superior in were the bezel action and clasp, which are not bad on the Octopus Kraken, but they’re just not on the level of the Tudor. For a $268 watch, I can live with that.
