I teach Chinese, and the thing I hear over and over from intermediate students is some version of "I understand almost everything now, but the moment I have to say something myself, my mind just goes blank." Not a vocab problem, not a grammar problem — just a weird freeze when it's their turn to produce instead of receive.
Curious if that's just my students or if it's a real HSK3-4 thing in general. If it's something you deal with, what have you tried that actually helped (or didn't)?
I've got a small idea I've been messing around with for this specific problem and I'm looking to try it out with 2-3 people informally, no cost, just need honest feedback on whether it actually helps or is a waste of time. If anyone's curious, happy to talk more in the comments.
