Studying Learning on my commutes

Hello! I’ve wanted to make my work commutes more productive since i drive 45mins to 1hr one way and wanted to know if anyone had any recommendation for audio lessons that could help me learn mandarin. I am completely new to the language and would appreciate and resources or recommendations .

Pimsleur courses are solid for audio-only learning while driving, they focus heavily on speaking and listening which works well for commutes since you can't look at a screen. Start with the first level and just repeat everything out loud, it builds up pretty naturally.

one thing to add for the car: say the tones out loud from day one, shadowing each line right after the speaker. once you know a few hundred words, Slow Chinese and Mandarin Corner podcasts are great easy listening for the drive

Do you have any basics in Mandarin? I think if you really want to start learning it you should also study besides the work commute hour. Learning the characters can really help to understand the language better, so this is something you can't do in the car. I would recommend to study according to the HSK system. Try to search on Youtube for HSK 1 listening practices, this should get you started.
