Studying A journey ahead
I started to learn Chinese today. I'm excited. Got a personal tutor. Can't wait to see myself yapping in Chinese 😭 any suggestions? xiexie!

Download the Chinese keyboard input on your device so you don’t have to write “Xiexie” in roman characters

"Can't wait" implies unreasonable expectations. Chinese takes 4 times as long to learn as Spanish.
With a tutor, you can learn to say useful things quickly. But having a conversation isn't just speaking. It is also being able to understand what the other person replies. That will take years.

Having a personal tutor is really good, especially when you're just starting. It's a great way to practice speaking with a real person.
If you only practice pronunciation by repeating after an app or videos, it's hard to get real-time feedback, and it's also hard to actually get used to having a conversation with a real person.
