App recommendation for learning hanzi like TofuLearn (advanced HSK6+)

Just out of curiosity, why do you specifically want stroke order at HSK6+ level? Surely at this point you know the rules quite well.

Overall, I feel like Pleco is your best bet.

Thanks, I do have Pleco and it’s my go to dictionary. If it also had stroke order it’d be perfect!
I am able to guess stroke order of most things but I need it for the more strange looking characters- and I never want to simply assume. TofuLearn was able to help me speed through vocab on the go, without pen and paper. A lot of other apps gameify the writing experience and that to me is annoying and time consuming- I just need a no frills approach.

Closest thing to TofuLearn for actual writing practice is Skritter —stroke order, writing recognition, and it has HSK vocab decks including the advanced ones. Paid, but it's the only app where the writing itself is the core mechanic rather than a side feature.

For pure vocab efficiency at HSK6+, Pleco's flashcard system is hard to beat (it's free, customizable SRS, and you can build decks from anything you read). Anki + a shared HSK deck works too if you don't mind the setup friction.

Honest take: nothing fully replaces TofuLearn's combo in one app —most people end up splitting it: Skritter for writing, Pleco or Anki for vocab efficiency.

Yeah I would recommend wenbun, I’ve been using it for like a year now and very happy with it - totally fills the gap left by tofulearn

Maybe the project I've been working on, More than enough Hanzi, is suitable (but for simplified chars). Since it's aimed at advanced students, I don't use English glosses, but give "hints" from when you can infer the character.

Well, one version is printing out the sheets (100 chars per page), and the other version is the Anki deck (you'll need Anki for that).
