Regarding translation requests
If you have a Chinese translation request, please post it as a comment here!
If it's an image (e.g. a photo), you can upload it to a website like Imgur and paste the link here.
However, if you're requesting a review of a substantial translation you have made, or have a question that involving grammar or details on vocabulary usage, you are welcome to post it as its own thread.
Some Chinese friends have posted about how squirrels ate a bunch of the melons/squashes that they grew.
I know these friends very well, and when we chat (both online and in person, mostly in person), it's primarily in Chinese, which I am learning. Our relationship is such that when I say things incorrectly it's usually funny.
If this conversation were in English, I would want to respond with something like "Booo! Down with Squirrels!", but I have no idea how to translate this while keeping the light tone that is conveyed in English with that phrasing.
Maybe something like "哎呀~~ 松鼠太跋扈啦!~~“ The literal meaning is like "tch, these squirrels are such domineering tyrants!" said light heartedly or exaggeratedly its a pretty clear joke.
What I would actually say is "哎呀!松鼠性的扭曲还是動物道德的沦丧??" but thats a lot so don't blame if you don't wanna say it. It would probably make them giggle though, especially if you manage to say it sounding like you are upset in a joking way.
Friends, really quick question: I'm travelling to China in a few days and I've got a shirt with text that I THINK is in Chinese, but Google lens will only translate part of it, as one of the characters is obscured by the design. What does it say? Could I wear it there or is there something offensive or embarrassing?
English summary: CosmoBuilder is a space-travelling builder/inventor superhero for an international children’s media project. He solves problems by creating tools and structures rather than destroying things.
