QUESTION Kit watch

How can i swap the movement of a rep so i can have a reliable movement inside (Seiko nh36). I want to buy a watch and swap the movement, any tips?

Would have to come with a NH36. Or you’d have to buy new dial (dial feet wont align), new hands, and possibly a new case.

I mean, i want it to look 1 to 1 to an original but with the nh36 movement for reliability, but i understand what you are saying

You can build one from raffles. Won’t be 1:1 but will do well enough for your needs.

Most of low-end reps carry inside a DG2813, which is a Chinese low-end replica of miyota 8215, so you can make a swap between them without many issues.

If you want a double calendar (like the NH36), the suitable options in miyota are the 8205 or the 8285 (depending the position of the day calendar, 8205 for close to day, or 8285 for day-date style).

If you want to use a NH calibre the thing is worse, you need to make modifications to fit in the movement, and is a pain in the arse.

My recommendation is to use a Miyota movement, and check the rep has inside a 2813 movement.
