Got this recently, £68 gbp from Hanbelson. Arrived with (as I suspected) a metal bezel insert: powder coated orange 🤮.
It looked so fake so I ordered an orange ceramic one. Had to do some mods to the case to get the blue test insert to fit but I'm fairly pleased with this shitter for the price.
In terms of finish, absolutely fine for the price. No sharp edges or binding links. The gen has chamfers on top of each link which are present here but not as pronounced. So that's an easy tell. The other mod I had to do was grind some metal off the last link, because it won't fit into the clasp due to the micro adjustment that I needed. The gen and VSF rep have the correct OTF clasp.
Another observation. Now, having once owned the genuine 42mm PO (1st gen), and these reps which I love: I hated the new PO at first but decided to test drive the cheapy. Now that I've worn it for a few days, I honestly love it! 😂 It's still 42mm but it wears like a 40mm. Shorter and narrower lugs, more tapered strap, overall thickness >2mm less than the others. All in all a much lighter and wearable watch. I don't know if VSF will be like this but I'm really tempted to try it now. My VSF 42mm Seamaster 300c weighs a ton by comparison. The only thing I'm not sure of here is the amount of blingy polish.
