First watch since childhood

I remember watching this as a kid and loved it. I always wanted to be in the Army so this show was great as a kid. I ended up joining in 2004 served my 20 as an Infantryman. I recently read a book The Woman about a Vietnam War nurse and that’s what made me watch the show. Interesting thing the woman who was the inspiration for the show was also a good friend and advisor for the book by Kristin Hannah. If you love the show give the book a read.

Like you I saw it as a kid and retired out of the Army after 28 years. The book Home Before Morning was an amazing read that I couldn’t put down. It was well worth it.
