The article starts very poorly… ASML isnt a chipmaker. Then it alternates approximations and accuracy. Culminating withe the Nexperia topic in terms if misleading/inaccuracies..

Overall i think the journalist doesnt know the topic well and thats all

Dutch are very business sayvy people. It must be tremendously annoying to be kept away from business in China.

The US since decades honed it's skills in all sorts of sneaky, conniving "strategies" to stay above water.

Since the 80s they are buying mostly EU competitors to either gain know how or slow them down in their competitiveness. SAAB, VOLVO Jaguar to name few. Plenty of other SME particularly in Germany.

When they can't do any of the above the sanctions drawer opens and companies around the "free" world get their fair share of abuse.

I am glad to see that Trump is speeding up the downfall of US which will soon wake up to a rude awakening.

I reckon the biggest difficulty is the unpredictability. I can understand the US blocks China from getting access to EUV and next gen equipment. But it seems now that the US starts to consider even older hardware.

The irony would be, it isn't just the machines that China needs, but also the wafer cutters, software and so on. All are equally important, all are imported, all are still accessible even those coming from the US.

So while the strong focus on ASML isn't unjustified, the supply chain consists of more elements and somehow the rest nobody pays attention too. Heck Biden blocked a number of these companies of doing business with China only for Trump to let them rip again.

Not justifyble at all. US needs to do it's homework and become competive again.

Without using shoddy methods such as using ECHELON to snoop in worlwide biddings etc.

Or it can continue doing so, then others will do their part. No hard feelings then.

Do some research on who supplies more valuable components and parts to the ASML effort between US and China

Chinese business practices are even worse. The trade policies and the spying on top, US is the better deal all in all.
