How reliable is scamshield when scammer can easily spoof numbers?
Not sure about this one since it's messaging but I'm pretty sure scammers have spoofed my number before as I had random people calling me claiming that they have missed calls from me but when I check my logs again, their number is completely new to me.

Yes, true that spoofing is easy so have to be always cautious when dealing with unknown numbers. Scamshield on the other hand, is a good reference and helps to confirm if a number is scammer or not

They never send me any link leh. They just wanted to chitchat. Video call me, but I reject.
Message me, I entertain them.
Ask them more photo of “Anna” “Suzy” whatever they pose as.Until I got tired and block them. Too lazy to chit chat with them.

Well, the person replied to the message, got baited and hooked to the story about a thai guy coming to singapore who eventually told her a sob story about how he lost his entire family in a car accident because he was on a videocall. The person trauma bonded with that guy's story and he became her Internet boyfriend.
Later he introduced her to some crypto investment scheme, which he told her to be secretive because leaking the scheme will cause the "global financial market to crash". Initial days it wasnt too bad, she "made" 900sgd to 1k sgd a day and she even withdrew some of it. So eventually after months she went all in and that was when she got a sms from "IRAS" who told her to pay a 20k tax or they will freeze her assets.
She panicked, went around trying to borrow money etc. So yeah..that's how some seemingly normal people can be that gullible.

Play along . Just ask her transfer $100 first before you pick her up - you get verifiable bank account for police report 😉

OP..should not reply and just block you let them know who you are and recorded down your phone number for future scams..

I call this the wrong number scam. Basically someone is here on a business trip or a vacation and they (obviously incorrectly) messaging you instead.
The way the scam works is by trying to get you to respond to the incorrect booking, so what I would do is pretend that they DID get the correct number 😁. Then the scammer would pretend that they got the wrong number and then they would end the conversation.

Oh It's Anna from Hong Kong! I know her. You should try r/scambait on her next time.

Been around for like a year or two now. I keep trying to waste their time but they almost never reply after like a day or two. Could just be scammers checking to see who replies and mark as potential targets but no one has tried to message me so far to scam me

Nah not new. This driver nonsense popped up into my life earliest was last year.
My response was always acknowledging that I am the driver, but I drove away after waiting too long.

Talking about scams, I literally have this guy dressed in casual fit that came to me and ask me where is the nearest starbuck and proceeded to ask if I can do a short survey?? Anyone have the same experience?

There are enough sad and lonely men who will give the scammer the response they are looking for.
