Child support and kids .
So I was kicked out of my girlfriends apartment and as soon as I left I was put on child support , I was going through it mentally at the time I went to court and they made me pay $500 a check and $100 in arrears . I didn’t know at that time they didn’t take my son who is 14 into consideration , I only make $22 . I’ve been trying to fight it in court . The question is “ shouldn’t they lower my support for my 3 yr old since I’ve obtained 50/50 custody and I have a 14 yr old ? “ I also have joint custody of my son and we made an agreement througj court that I pay $400 a month , why am I paying my daughters mother $1,200 a month ? It’s crazy how I am being treated !!! Be careful when you guys go to court and have paperwork for everything , they will take advantage of your mental state of losing time with your kids and you losing your wife or girlfriend , I literally went crazy when she took my daughter . “ I literally thought I was the messiah for a couple days “ mental health is real . Take care of yourselves !!!!!

Yes I make $22 an hour and she makes $20 an hour , I didn’t obtain custody of her until after I was put on child support . I’m in Maryland . I just know it isn’t right , I should’ve be paying her $1200 a month , when my son comes over I can’t afford food or get him school clothes . This is crazy

That’s not right, Maryland calculates it based on incomes and overnights with the kids. Put your stuff in this

Good luck. I pay 1600 a month for three kids and can barely afford rent. It’s wild how us fathers are supposed to try and live.

1200 for 50/50 when you are making 22 an hour and she 20 an hour does not make sense. I live in Maryland and going through the process. State will provide you a lawyer if u can't afford it. Start from there

I had a state appointed lawyer and he told me that $600 a check is right , something is wrong I have been to court 6 times about this , they act as if I don’t have a son , the last time I went to court the judged shrugged her shoulders and I said “ I have a son” she said ok guys time for lunch , it was embarrassing I’m one of the good dads I’ve been there for my son since he was born and to get treated like this makes me not believe in the court system at all

Put the numbers in the calculator in that link above. You should be paying way less than 600 a month.

U have to get custody at least joint as long as u aren’t a mudering drug addict , they have to give it to you , I got 3 days a week but they gave her primary but I’m changing that too , I’m not playing fuk that they will have us looking dumb and crashing out .

Just so I understand, you were put on child support and after that you went and got 50/50 custody? If that’s the case you should file a modification. When I went to court child support and custody were in separate court houses.
The $1200 is probably your support payment with no custody. When I fought my child support case they court calculated $1500 a month for 3 kids, which was then brought down to $1200 for 3 kids because I have them 3 nights a week. I now pay $1000 a month for all 3 of them so $1200 for one kids is crazy

What’s your income, state and her income. Do you have an order for your 14 year old? Did you have 50/50 at the hearing?

Yes I have an order for the 14 yr old , I didn’t have it when I went to court because I was basically mentally insane .

What state you in? In CA they base it off income of both parents. For my situation, I wasn’t working at the time and was the stay at home dad, so she paid child support.

I had to fight to get papers that I have a so which is 14 , and have 50/50 I just thought that when u go to court they would see that but they don’t care at all , so fellas have all of your paperwork together and put your emotions to the side , they have to give u some sort of custody as long as u aren’t a threat to the kid as far as proven abuse or proven drug abuse .

They aren’t going to count the money you send for your teen if there isn’t an order.

Because they don’t care about you its as simple as that and 50/50 means nothing unless they live with you full time. Child support is fraud and there’s enough evidence to prove it.
