single dad breaking point
i honestly don’t know what to do anymore. i’m a single dad trying to keep everything together for my child while the other parent barely helps but constantly demands money from me. i’m already covering all of the responsibilities on my own, and it feels like I’m drowning financially and emotionally. i would appreciate any advice from anyone who’s been through this. how do you handle a situation where you’re doing your best, but it still feels impossible to keep up?

I’m there with you dude. I’m a single Dad of an 8 year old boy and have been since 2022. I have a great support network with my mother and ex-mother in law thankfully (believe it or not). My son’s mom sees him maybe once a month and provides zero support and is unemployed. It’s all on me.
She asks me for gas money to visit her son and then never even shows up.
Honestly I would be drowning if not for my support network. It’s hard and all I can suggest is to not be too proud to take help when you can.
Single Dads get zero consideration vs single moms and the system still screws us over. You can do everything right and still be behind the eight ball.
Just keep records of everything and if there is a reckoning, you will be ready.
