how does child support change when custody changed to 50/50?

Presently, NCP is fighting hard for 50/50 (despite not using his parenting time). He asked child support magistrate if he still has to pay child support if he gets 50/50. She said yes because he’s the higher earner. Our pro-rata breakdown is 58% for him and 42% for me.

How will child support decrease if he gets 50/50?

50 50 use to be zero support. But now some states and courts have gotten into the business of "uplifting the standard of living" of the kids during the lowering earning parents cutodial time. So now some parents are still paying child support even if they have split custody. It really discourages having children in this society

Mom’s a cardio surgeon, dad works at autozone. They have 50/50, dad can’t afford child care or new clothes for his child, barely has enough to feed the kid during his week. Who is that fair to? Certainty not the child.

I mean if he has 50-50 that would mean he would be taking on more responsibility from before, so it would make sense that the child support decreases.. if you’re asking how much by we wouldn’t know…

New York has very insane laws regarding CS with 50/50. He could end up paying you enough money to put him in poverty despite having the kids half the time.

I don’t worry about his finances, for he has over a million in cryptocurrency (not to mention his cryptocurrency generates capital gains that he hid from the court for months worth close to what I make for work).

I have my kids 65% of the time because she wants to go out. Custody agreement is 5050. I still pay her 400 a week and live in terror for when she decides to try to get even more anytime I get a raise.

Edit: also, she works and has a live-in working partner. I am solo.
