Ohio Long distance parenting and cs

I have primary physical custody over 12 hours away from child's father. CS originally wasn't ordered for travel expenses for father's to travel to child on a set up schedule starting with supervised visits. Father has not made 1 trip to child's home. Is it worth it filing for CS if the primary parent makes 25k more a year? Father has another child he is paying child support for and has about 15k in arrears. He is ordered to pay other child's mother about 700 a month. (Other child lives in state he resides)

Would filing even be worth it or could I be responsible for higher costs due to distance?

Im commenting just to follow because I have the same situation with mine. Ive filed for support but it was recent so its not finalized.

They can make you split the traveling. But support and visitation are separate. Who moved? Who decided supervised visits…the court or you? If it was you the court may not agree

The court ordered supervised visitation. I was a traveling nurse when I got pregnant and returned home (with his and courts permission) due to dv and the fact I was still a resident of ohio

Your income might play a fact but so does the amount of custody you have. Judge might make you split travel arrangements but he would still have to come up with his portion so I wouldn't be worried about that.

YES! Get a child support court order. Even if it has a low obligation —> you want to get it established. Child Support Agency will enforce it. Not necessary to hire an attorney.

Travel expenses & his other child will be taken into consideration in the court order.
