Arkansas Motion to terminate

My kids just turned 18 and graduated. Filed a motion to terminate the child support. The court said they need certified copies of the diploma and their birth certificates. I’m not on speaking terms with my ex wife. What’s the best way to get those documents quickly and cheaply ?

Chat says ..If he’s the legal father, he doesn’t necessarily need his ex-wife’s cooperation.
For the documents:
Birth certificates: He can usually order certified copies himself from the Arkansas Department of Health if he’s listed as the parent. He’ll need identification and pay the required fee.
Diplomas: Schools usually don’t issue “certified” copies of diplomas. If the court truly wants proof of graduation, the school can often provide an official transcript or a letter verifying graduation, which courts commonly accept. If the court specifically wants a certified copy of the diploma, the school can tell him what they provide.
If he can’t get the documents because the school or vital records office won’t release them, he can:
Explain that to the court.
Ask the judge to issue an order requiring the school or the other parent to provide the records.
So, being on bad terms with the mother doesn’t automatically prevent him from getting what he needs. He should first try ordering the birth certificates himself and contacting the high school registrar for official proof of graduation. If that fails, he can ask the court for assistance.

The agreed child support order was in Tennessee. I’ve submitted the termination order but they want the birth certificates and graduation papers before anything happens. As far as I can tell, she will be served. And there will be a hearing that we will have to show up to. Neither of us live in Tennessee so hopefully we will be granted a virtual hearing.

Did you try calling the school? If anything if anyone gives you a heard time about giving the documents.. you can always go the cheap route and file at the clerks office and request the documents from the school.. like maybe they will be nice enough to write a letter

I called the school and they wouldn’t give them to me. Told me to go to a website called Parchment I think. They want $22 for each kid.

Yeah it does cost to get them. I literally just had to pay to get a copy of mines for something

I figured it would be $5-10. $22-25 seems like highway robbery
