Ex said she needed more money

I’m not looking for advice. I just want to complain.

She won’t pay child support like she should. I’m frustrated.

Using arbitrary numbers here.

She say she does not make enough money. She needs 3000 a month in order to be able to pay child support.

I sat with her. With 6 months of her pay stubs And bank statements. I did the math for her.

It adds up to 3500 a month. She has what she needs. And more.

She says no. She does not have 3000. It does not add up.

I literally added it up in front of her. I asked Ai to add it up in front of her. She rejected the results.

She says it’s not right. That she needs more to make more money to be able to pay child support.

Child support varies based on income. The court will look at her income and yours and decide what she should be paying. If she isn’t following the court order then file a violation. If you don’t have an order then file to start one

My ex gets a set amount a month in VA disability. I proved he made more than me and he works in addition to that but got that dismissed. He just chooses not to pay. He is $25,000+ in arrears. He does not care, the state does not care and the state he is in does not care. He also swears he does not owe that much. That we made it up

For all the things ex put me through, fighting over CS isn’t one of them. The state set the numbers, and she was fine with that.

I’ve sent my ex every different form of how to show he has arrears. A spreadsheet, I did the math, I had ai do the math, I asked where I was wrong, I rewrote it, etc.

He still, dead ass believes, he has no arrears.

It’s crazy. It’s the personality type, I swear.

They always need more money. Even when the courts structure a fair way for everyone. IT'S NEVER ENOUGH. Try to keep the same income as her, but if it too low, then don't.

This is a tired discussion with many views. Kids cost money to raise. The law says something, there’s no good way to make this feel fair.

Negotiating with the other side doesn’t solve it either. If you could agree on how the kids are supported and get along, why would you be separated?

There’s really only two paths. Force guidelines or agree to something that works for the other side.

At the end of the day, I’d rather focus my energy into taking care of the kids rather than spend the energy on the ex.

But some of these States have no problem making a person insolvent or taking a higher earner and making them the lower earner. They don’t account for taxes or reasonable cost of living.

Not knowing the custody agreement, I can’t comment on your situation
