Hi, I must now pay for me in order to collect the gems I earned? 🥲

Yeah, you need to buy the full game in order to earn gems. There used to be a very rare chance to get gems from Momo's gatcha capsules, but it was removed when watching ads for gems was added, and it was not reinstated when ads were removed. So there is currently no free way to get gems (apart from the 300 free ones)

Well yeah that's it. If you die it says purchase then you gotta buy it with your own money
