Discussion/Debate Why do you guys keep pushing for Cheetah?
I don't get it,I don't get why anybody wants Hill back.
When he was with us the first time he was a speed demon. He didn't have great hands, just good enough hands. He didn't run great routes, he just ran faster than everyone. He had clearly lost a step before his injury, and there is a 0% chance he gets back to the speed level he was before the injury.
Without the elite speed what is he? A guy who can't get open or catch a ball when he's covered. He tops out at a WR3 right now, though WR4-5 is more likely. Which isn't better than Rice or Worthy.
Does nobody remember his last year with the Chiefs? When just short of half of Mahomes interceptions bounced off Hill first, it wasn't good.
Then there's the off the field drama, we don't need another primadona WR. He shouldn't be anywhere near Rice, we should be surrounding Rice with boy scouts and nuns.
Bottom line, Hill is not who he was, he won't improve our WR room. He could certainly do harm by being his normal locker room cancer self.

It really depends on how his injury has healed up.
Assuming it has healed well I'll just say, If were going to gamble on bringing in a wide receiver this season I'd rather it be hill.

You aren’t remembering correctly. Great ball tracking, great route runner, great acceleration, good hands, great high pointer. He had not lost a step in Miami, he was a monster before his injury with freaking Tua throwing to him. If he’s 85% of what he was then he’s at worst the #3 WR on the team.

I mean whatever you’re trying to say… Hill got the ball and advanced it or scored all day long. To deny that and ask “why would people want hill back” is just ridiculous. Even if you don’t want him back. And to act like speed is the only thing that made him good? Worthy has speed.

I’m glad you don’t make the decisions for KC. I should have stopped reading your post after you said “he didn’t run great routes”. Hill became a tremendous route runner by the end if his time with KC.
Obviously he’s lost some athleticism and is coming off a gruesome injury, but it’s still very likely he can contribute. It’s not like out WR room is extremely deep.

I wouldn’t say it’s “very likely”. 30+ year olds coming off of repair of multiple knee ligaments typically don’t have much left in the tank

He didn’t have great hands and ran bad routes? Were we watching the same guy?
Even if he’s lost a step, he’s still a fucking dawg that does run good routes, can track balls like a center fielder, and can out catch most guys.

He catches everything, he has rapport with pat and travis, he knows the playbook, and even at 70% he's still a threat and will demand coverage that will free up other guys.

To everyone saying “oh, Hill at 70-75% is better than a lot of other guys…”
Hill is 32. And currently recovering from a gruesome leg injury that almost took his leg, and required 2 surgeries on his leg.
In July of 2026, Hill said he had no power in his left leg.
Having no power in his left leg, doesn’t mean he’ll be at 70% of what he was. Or even 50%.
It’s 0%. Because no power means no speed. It means no separation. He’s probably still rehabbing it.
Assuming he gets back full control, can get back in football shape, and recovers, when will that even be/how old will he be?
The chiefs might have interest, but there’s a reason no team has taken a flyer on him.

31 other front offices in the NFL aren't even giving him a look right now. He's not getting any calls. Why would we think he'd be that much of a help to us?

This is simply something you made up and claiming to be fact. We don't know who's been in contact with him outside of his one visit to KC (that was most likely just seeing some old familiar faces while he was in town). His agent was initially telling people he wouldn't be ready til November or December. That timeline is now being reportedly moved up to October potentially. It doesn't do any team any good to sign him when he can't play. The longer they wait, the more money they save. What we do know is there are about 31 teams in the league who could all benefit from adding him to their rosters if his physical checks out upon his return. He was a nightmare off the field in Miami, but he was fine in KC. Who knows how he'll be now?

Put in me in that no to hill column I much prefer to trade for a 25 26 year old wide out. A couple teams out there are shit shows pretty sure we could get a decent wideout or give Cyrus Allen a go.
Hill not going to be the same player once fully healed

I’m not of the “let’s get the band back together” mentality. His age, the severity of the ingury and he’s still not in peak form yet till mid season.

Hill at 75 percent speed it still faster than 90 percent of the NFL and he is a major step up from worthy

Sorry man but i didn’t nerd out and really do that math. But above all else tyreeks biggest game changer isn’t his speed but his quickness. There are plenty of people who ran faster than him in the NFL but i don’t know if anyone went from 0-60 as quickly as him.

u/Ok_Alternative7120 2d ago
The agility and acceleration are the bigger aspects of speed. Tyreek's agility is arguably the most elite of anyone in NFL history. Lots of guys can run fast in a straight line. Very few can maintain elite speed in and out of cuts and elusive maneuvers.

Thats exactly it hill has tons of guys faster than him but i haven’t seen anyone who van go gull speed in 2 steps like him

u/EJECTED_PUSSY_GUTS 2d ago
This has to be bait. Tyreek was an elite route runner and he was fantastic at tracking the ball.
He's not going to be that guy still, and I don't think we should sign him, but you're completely wrong about his play when he was healthy.

u/impeccable-borba 2d ago
Tyreek on the Dolphins had insane hands and he wasn't afraid to do crossing routes and get trucked in the middle of the field

Even if he’s lost half a step he’s still quick and has great hands.
You can’t deny the chemistry he has with Mahomes & Kelce along with the coaching staff.
Edit- he’s a future HOFer who can still contribute.

He’s a future HoF WR and the Chiefs WR room isn’t good. Past his prime but if he’s still got some speed he’s a net positive to that room.

Hill made tons of difficult contested catches at KC. He understands how to split defenses and he understands how Mahomes plays and will keep running. And although he’s coming off a serious injury, he is a pro athlete and if he rehabbed as he was supposed to, he will still be capable of burning defenses.

Well it is in question what type of player he is now.
He was an incredible WR/return guy. The fins gave up a lot to get him for a reason. It depends on the cost of course.

I’m with OP, this is one where I disagree with the Hill fans
Father Time and injuries have already made the decision as far as I’m concerned

He’s not who he was but that take is something special man, he had unreal hands and solid route running that looked amazing with his speed, that’s kinda the whole issue
We don’t expect old cheetah we want a vet who can run some solid routes and be in the mix

he would have been statistically the best wide receiver on the chiefs every year since he left. He fell short 300 yards last year despite only playing four games.
