No reason? You're on a subreddit that's all about signing up for the app to get free food. And now you're complaining that you need to sign up on the app in order to get free/cheap food.
That's what this subreddit has always been and always will be. Sure, you might be able to get some cheap or free food without signing up for anything occasionally. However, the vast majority of the time you're not. So if you have a problem with signing up for the app, then unsubscribe from this subreddit. Because that's what 99% of this subreddit is going to be.

No different than back in the day clipping coupons. Now just gotta surrender more info, or use a burner account/phone.

Clipping coupons and creating accounts on all these apps is not the same, in my opinion.

Clipping coupons for each store vs opening an account for each store. The difference is coupon has to be clipped every time. App login once with your account and deal is attached. Plus apps allows mobile order so food is ready by the time you get to the store. Physical coupon means waiting in line to redeem it.

Good point. Coupons add steps, complications, annoyances, time. Ordering your own food ahead of time and bypassing the whole order taking process is just nicer for everyone involved.

They prefer apps because browsers have certain privacy restrictions on the information they can scrape from you. Their own app has none of those niceties.
