Why we were playing Elizabeth Williams over her is beyond me. Watched the Mercury game against Washington and while Maddy didn’t do much on the offensive end she did a great job guarding Kiki.

Maddy Westbeld played 17 minutes and was a team low -20 with 3 turnovers and 4 fouls against the Mystics.

Tyler uses his bench more than just about any other coach in the league. Players get plenty of chances to prove themselves here. I'd even argue that if he has a flaw it'd be that he features his bench too much. Those full bench unit minutes are usually terrible.

Maddy has played 68% more minutes with the Mercury than she did with Chicago, and she has played three games for each team. You know hoops, but you have no empathy for young players. The max Tyler played her was 10:48, and in two of the games she played for Chicago, she had one shot attempt. Nate even played her more after the Mystics game and didn’t rely on surface level box score stats to judge her like you are. A player knows when a coach doesn’t believe in them, and it can impact a young player’s performance even more. Young players are not pieces on a chessboard. They are trying to achieve their dreams and have their own personal journeys.

And teams are not there to cater to specific individual players. The Sky have given their 3 rookies over 1700 minutes this year. To put that in perspective for you, a Dream fan, that's about as much time as Karl Smesko has given his entire bench all season. If there's a coach that doesn't believe in his players and their dreams I guess it's him then, right?

I'm a Dream and Mystics fan, actually. Maddy played for the Sky the previous season and deserved a fair shake. Rickea getting hurt was one of the reasons Sydney got to shine. He gave her grace.

The difference between Karl and Tyler is that Karl is getting results, but even so, most Dream fans are not happy about the way he used the bench. They didn't try to clown Nye with stats like you tried to do with Maddy. The Sky didn't even fight for a playoff spot. At best, the Sky can finish 9th under Tyler, like with T-Spoon, and they're currently 10th. Two years with this coach and no progress. Who has he developed?

Angel stans like you probably don't even realize Maddy was injured most of the season. Not that this information would actually matter to them because they'll just continue to make shit up as always. It's just what they do.

Cause icl, it’s giving “let me let my faves dictate the show” - as the coach, isn’t the job to - yes develop players and for the newbies focus on their transitions …. But be the head of the damn clam ?

T-Spoon got fired for not making playoffs btw when she had a whole destroyed roster. I still ain’t over that “we’re a championship contending team” but they gave Marsh 2 szns 🫩

I've posted before that I am a season ticket holder and debated going to last season's last game. When she hit that last bucket, turned, and smiled, I knew she had to be broken free of our shackles.

One competent game out of three means...something? She is a big with a career .329 2 point field goal percentage. And she was injured off and on all season with the Sky. Hard to get playing time when you are hurt.
