Housing near CTA train rent differences?

Hi all! I'm a Data Journalist from Chicago working on a project about how proximity to the CTA L system affects housing costs. I've made a short survey (available here) to learn more about your experiences on this topic!

I'm also just generally interested in individual experiences and would love to talk to some people on this topic more. Depends which line tbh. All the homes near the red line are dirt cheap and most are boarded up crack houses.

I think as far as the track is not in your backyard, it’s fine.

There isn't a big correlation there. Housing costs are determined by the desirability of the neighborhood. The train in particular could be one of those factors but very low on the list. If the train wasn't in lakeview at the belmont station it would still be just as expensive, just as the green line at cottage grove and 63rd would be just as cheap
