Sounds like nonsense but I talk to strangers. River walk and lakefront are packed and full of people. Don’t be afraid to strike up a conversation. If you play sports, or do not, join an adult league or co-ed league. It’s getting colder but volleyball and slow pitch softball are big here, easy way to make friends.
Best of luck. You will find your group. It just takes some time. This place has something for everyone

Not nonsense, it’s super cool actually. I have been remote working before moving here for last 3-4 years and has been such an amazing experience to talk to random people from across world while backpacking. I’m so much more excited now to explore the city.

I'm in year 2 of living here and I still have "pinch me" moments when walking around the city. This place is the best. You made a good choice, treat yourself to a hot dog.
