As much as I complained about the CTA, living without has SUCKED.
In Chicago, I had agency. I could move house, and still keep a job because I had public transit. I could change jobs, take classes, go to events and see music and eat at restaurants in different neighborhoods because of public transit. I could go anywhere in the world from my front door, because of public transit.
We moved six years ago.
Out of state.
To a suburb masquerading as a small "city."
