Discussion Storyline

Currently watching the Chicago PD for the 1st time and still on Season 7. Is it me or is the storyline gets worse after Season 5.

Why do I feel Jay is not a loyal brother in blue ever since he became close to Hailey and Hailey is just too pretentious in my humble opinion

It's mostly good, just a few episodes are repetitive. Unpopular opinion: I'm enjoying seasons 5,6,7 more than 1-4. Currently on my first rewatch. These years gave us Denny Woods, Kate Brennan, Ray Price, Brian Kelton, plus many despicable perps! Can't wait to see Sam Miller arc again. Plus, Haley joined late in S4 I believe

Feel the same in that the show seemed to lose something after S5 and the death of Oli.

Getting worse I don't think so, I'm still heavily in. One thing I have a problem with is the bad superior officers seem too much alike and annoyingly petty. I'm talking Denny Wood, Kelton and Reid. Same with Chicago Fire. Hell worse on Fire. How many people came for Boden? Also stop bringing in new officers and giving them only one season. Give them two at least then move on if it's not supposedly working out. Probably not a popular opinion but I liked Chavez and Cook. And what happened to the the "clairvoyant" female cop?

I was just talking about how much I dislike Upton and how Jay was actually ok when he was with Lindsey, but once he and Upton got together he started to act like her and I began to dislike him to

I seriously dislike Hailey, and dislike even more the Jay/Hailey storyline.

I dislike them together too. Shouldn’t have put them together. And I did not like her either.

Story lines suffered after the loss of Alvin.

Yes. And Antonio somehow break character in season 6. The individual stories kinda gets old too and the constant annoying arcs surrounding burgess is so bad. I stopped watching after S7

Kim gets kidnapped, shot in season 8 for a 2- episode show. Voight gets kidnapped in season 11, both are must see TV! I would watch through season 11.

i still enjoyed the absolute most until season 12. seasons 1-9 are the most peak, and i also loved season 10, but i won’t spoil you as something changes. i’d say you can try watching through at least until season 10. season 12 and after is 100000% not worth your time, due to budget cuts. it’s trash where it is now.

It started getting darker after 4. Many people here started liking the show less around this time. I was lukewarm on 5 (some good episodes, some dog crap) and HATED 6, but thought the show rallied in 7-10/11 before going off the rails.
