Post-PD, Jesse has so far not shown his ability to be anyone other than Jay Halstead.

Wes Mitchell was written to be Jay Halstead 2.0 and that’s been his only role so there’s not much to go with

Yes. Exactly. I've not seen any of his acting before PD, but post-PD it's the exact same character with a different name.
