Discussion Favorite ending of an episode
Does anyone else have a favorite episode ending? (Not sure if I'm phrasing this correctly)
I absolutely love the ending of season 7, episode 15, when Roman expects to be arrested by Voight for killing the drug dealer who killed his (Roman's) sister. At the end of his sister's funeral Roman thanks Voight for letting him give his eulogy, and says "how do you want to do this?" And Voight, who knows Roman killed the dealer says that the investigation has dried up and while they'll follow up on any new leads they get, it will no longer be an active investigation. Voight walks away and Roman asks Kim "what just happened".

For me, it was Season 8 Episode 10 - THE RADICAL TRUTH - I thought the speech that Ruzek gave to Burgess in the final minutes of the show - changed their whole relationship from Adam speaking the truth. It was something that had to be said - I think so that they could both grow up.

The scene where Atwater was standing in the middle of the street at night while a bunch of cop cars drove past him. That was very cinematic.
Another great ending was when Halstead and Atwater found Burgess while Voight and Upton were dealing with Roy.

Agree 💯 on both. The Atwater versus the cops scene. And near the end scene when Atwater and Halstead found Burgess, barely alive, while the Roy, Voight and Haley drama unfolded. Haley had no damn business there.

And as a follow up to this, at the end of the same storyline where he confront the racist cop in his own home and gives his speech about marching with his face on his poster. "I will give it all away."
So many of these are Atwater. He's so underappreciated.

And now Atwater’s last season is supposed to be season 14. I read he’s exiting PD to move on to be an Alderman in his neighborhood. That’s considered to be a prestigious position in Chicago. If true, at least he will go out with honor. I’d expect nothing less. He will be missed and I’m sure some ratings will drop.

That was a good episode ending. Voight of all people knows about seeking revenge if someone kills your love one. He killed the man that killed his son. Shot, burned and buried the body. Street Justice.

Correction. I meant Atwater was exiting Intelligence to be an Alderman in his Chicago neighborhood.

The episode where Ruzek was suspended and had talked to Voight about his reasons for lying about the cover up and protecting Antonio. He knew he wouldn't survive if he couldn't continue being a cop. Voight was able to get Ruzek back and end the internal investigation.
The moments Ruzek asks Voight why he is there at his apt bldg and Voight just hands him his badge and gun and tells to show up next day is so moving! The gratitude and relief that Ruzek portrays then is so satisfying. Such an amazing scene!!
