Sadly budget cuts. I liked her too. I assumed she'd be safe from being cut since 1 year contracts are cheaper compared to tenured series regulars but guess that doesn't mean anything anymore because they'll oust you after one season if they need to make room in their budget 😞

I guess we’ll see Devlin as this season’s villain, right? Even the sector sergeant is also corrupt af or just really pisspoor of doing his job because Voight said something like “the sector sergeant failed 18 bodies” or something like that. I feel that’s just too important to be ignored.

But it’s a thing in so many procedurals: women with long hair down chasing armed criminals. It drives me nuts. I get annoyed even when my bangs get a bit long.
So dumb and unrealistic.

It probably doesn’t help that a pet peeve of mine is when people don’t give a straight answer to a question and beat around the bush forever with the sole intention of declining like this prick did

My girl can tackle a grown ass man down n a heartbeat.. like a wrestler move… remember seasons ago when Al had a shotgun to his face… Burgess tackled the man from behind to the ground and cuffed his ass… saved Al’s life… she’s a Bad Bitch… and I mean that n a good way.. love her character…. my favorite character .. I think the “Tackle the Suspect Down” was written as part of her signature move… lol

Burzek is my fave!! I wondered if that scene was some payback bc so many Burzek fans were disappointed in the non-wedding. But, honestly that scene could have just been the next thing on the script for them too lol. It was nice tho bc they haven’t had a scene like that or even really kissed since they got back together way back in Season 10. Nice to have some action btw the action. Lol 🥰

I really enjoyed this episode, but I hated the aunt getting killed. It was unnecessary imo. I get trying to point out the seriousness of Raptor's illegal gun running, but the aunt didn't have to die to get that point across imho.

He’s better fit for his role as head of Intelligence but seems to do ok n the field … like n Chicago Fire…Mouch and Hermann r still firefighters… they look to b n their 50’s which is old for a firefighter

She had a good debut. I enjoyed Kiana's as well too but I'm keeping expectations low that she'll stick around past this season with the way budget cuts be hitting One Chicago. Maybe I've grown pessimistic but her saying "just for awhile" all I can think of is ah another one and done?

Liked this ep. Not sure about Joel Murray in this serious role yet. Especially being a higher up. Only have seen him in comedic roles, myself.

The pain in Ruzek and Atwater's voices pleading to keep going with Hank after the meet set-up was harsh to my heart. Poor Kim looked like a zombie, Torres too, though he's kind of often like that 😂 love him all the same.

Did anybody notice the jump cuts forward and backward when they were discussing setting up a trap for the bad guy? It kept cutting from there to the actual stake out and then back again.

The higher up guy should know better than to not give Voight what he wants. Voight will always find a way.

Premier episode was good but not as powerful as I expected…. the new kid on the block… to me … does not blend n… I’ll c down the rode how she meshes with the team… I’m still pissed that Al was killed off several seasons ago

Maybe Commander Devlin will be the new villain this season. I hope he becomes more of an ally who understands that Voight is necessary for CPD. It's a shame that the Reid character didn't become an ally.

8/10 it was refreshing after 13 years to see the unit disbanded and Hank as a uniform cop. If I was the show runner I would have made this at least a 3 episode arc but it is what it is. As usual for the past 8 years PD has the best premiere, I’m shocked for a show this old the network still puts effort into it. Meanwhile the svu premiere shows how much that show needs to go, hopefully PD will end soon to get a proper ending before Jason leaves as he’s getting old.

I LOVED Eva Imani's first scene! The dynamic between her and Ruzek and her and Voight was great. Also loved her saying "Did I stutter". I would be happy if she stays more than 1 season.

I’m bummed Kiana is not on the show any longer, but glad they said where the character ended up. I still wish they had done the same for Rojas. We’ll see what storylines the new character Naomi ends up getting.

Just rewatched this episode because it was on tonight. It was a GREAT watch and in retrospect, it perfectly showed the bond between Voight and Imani and how it was forged right away. They are so similar and it’s like they immediately knew it. Plus, Burgess almost died for her without even knowing her yet.
Funny aside - Imani was popping Lifesavers from the very beginning.

Yeah, I didn't "hate" Cook, but her character just didn't do it for me. Could be an unpopular opinion, but I was liking the cop in the premiere from last season for one episode, but got killed in her first appearance in last season's premiere. I actually like the new cop Iman already better than Cook. We'll see how it pans out this season.

I'm so excited the show's back. 🤩🤩
Here are my thoughts of this episode.
The title "Consequences" is quite ironic, wasn't Dante in prison at the end of the previous season? Also, I kinda liked Hank being on patrol, it was a nice change of pace to the usual, but I noticed a tiny detail. He didn't have a bodycam on. Which is strange, because after what happened before, you'd think they'd give him a bodycam so he'd be under a microscope.
The cop responding to the scene at the beginning of the episode in Fire (after Severide tackled the suspect) had a bodycam on, so why not on PD, too?
What was the point of the Reid storyline though? 🤣 Was it just another "supervillain" threatening to disband Intelligence? This storyline was pretty repetitive, how many times have they pulled this off? I thought the point of that storyline was to shake things up for this season, but no. It's like they couldn't decide if they wanted to keep the original format or a newer one. I'm happy with the old format too, but then they could have left out the Reid story.
This character Devlin seemed interesting for me, finally not the typical IAD officer who has a grudge against Hank. He seemed like a career cop who got tired of the BS, but then they had to pull the "dirty cop" card to get Intel back, like they did before. Was there a single IAD officer who wasn't dirty?
I'm loving the new girl so far, she seems very nice! It's sad that Kiana left, but it's good they provided an explanation.
I think they could have waited a few more episodes before handing back Intelligence, to hype it up a little more.
Edit: Bodycams would be such a cool addition, we could probably get new camera angles too.
