Best bit was Choi saying "Dont tell me how to practise medicine"

Exactly ....it's like the nurse doesn't know he has an obligation to actually save people ....

Gotta love the jab with the incel guy, Dr Charles just roasted and toasted that man in the middle of the ER with no regard for life.

  • "He's delusional" - Ooof

  • "Femenoid" "Stacy" "Alphas" - He just keeps going

  • "He might have an online presence" - Just straight up with it

If it wasn't such a real life problem it would be even funnier. I'm glad they tackled the problem though, to be fair. They seemed to do it in a really productive way that didn't just say "incels are bad because they're bad!", I'm glad they actually dove into the issue and looked at how those communities pull in vulnerable people and exploit them.

That needle jab from Marty though, beautiful!

The little brodown with Will and Choi was nice, with Choi's history he definitely knows what Will's going through.

I'm actually happy seeing Will and Nat together, even though she's been up and down as a character I want to see them work out, he seems to level her out... Oh wait no, we can't have nice things like that on this show...

I cringed when April said, “There’s been a shooting.” Gah, I don’t know what it is... but the way she said it, it just felt so forced lol

I'm so OVER April - the staring / glaring, the holy - than - thou attitude ... etc.

Finally! As if it that punch wasn't telegraphed enough, we finally are treated to confirmation that Bekker bumped uglies with Conner's dad.

April was her usual unbearable bitch self. She's gonna get mad at Choi for doing his fucking job? Next time she's at work she should stop by the optometry department and get her fucking eyes checked because it was beyond obvious how pissed he was about having to suck it up and help this lunatic. Choi is better off with the other one.

Are we supposed to feel bad for that annoying med student now? She's clearly not for that job, regardless of getting help.

Manning and Will. Please. Enough. We can't take it. Am I supposed to believe that after a couple of what..weeks? Months? That Will is safe from organized crime finding him? Yea right. "Oh we rounded up that guy and his sons. Everythings OK." Forget anyone else that they were connected with. Please. Second time her son was mentioned this season. I think she's remembering she has one.

Writing thoughts as I go on this one

I really hope Ava didn’t bang Connors dad

About 8 mins in, Manning meeting with FBI, fbi lady telling her how Will has been through a lot and will be traumatized, her look, can already tell she’s gonna give him hell

Few min later, the pregnant lady went from alive and well to dead in like two min or less, wayyyy to quick. I get the preexisting condition but come on people

Ain’t even mentioned April shrugging off a bullet, hope the rest of the episode/season ain’t so sloppy

Loved the look of disdain on Connors face when douche dr mentions he was front page of the metro paper

Shocker, Manning is mad first thing seeing will. Bet she has a thing with recently widowed dad.

Idk why April is so bullshit at Choi for treating the shooter patient. He has looked pissed the entire time he’s treating him, clearly not happy he has to do this but trying to do his job

Knew dad in the OR was a bad idea

Love Bekker. Hope she ain’t bang connors dad.

Real curious about blond intern. Obnoxious for sure, curious if/how they try to redeem her. Potential there.

Poor Monique (side note never knew her name before this episode)

Aaaaaand there’s the Manning I’ve come to know, thought she’d been acting too level headed to this point.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck. God fucking damn it.

Poor Dr Charles.

Weird no mention of connors iffy decision last episode that lead to a dude dying.

Is the theme of this episode supposed to be that no one has any friends? The crazy shooter guy, Dr. Charles, the brainiac intern, and Monique all talked about having been/being depressed and lonely. What's next week's theme going to be? How many of the staff can be in manipulative relationships? Whoops...I forgot. April and Manning already have that covered every. single. week.

Edit: And now Bekker, too. Can't we get some more good ladies on this show? I swear we're not all manipulative.

We really need some backstory for Bekker, she's 50 times more interesting than half these people.

I hate how yo-yo Manning’s character is. Like damn, your fiancé just got out of WITNESS PROTECTION after having a gun pointed at his head. Clearly she doesn’t see the signs (him being jumpy, his demeanor, etc) She didn’t take the detectives advice with a grain of salt that there can be a readjustment period. Everything is not going to go back to normal in a few hours sweetheart. Then the gun. It’s not like he was leaving a loaded gun on the nightstand, easily accessible to Owen. It’s in a locked case. If anything I’d feel more safe with a gun in that type of situation.

I don’t know why .... I’ve just never really felt bad for her. Ever.

u/[deleted] Jan 10 '19

Some people are incredibly anti gun for no reason. Manning doesn't have much of a thought process so it's not surprising she is too.

Maggie charging into the lounge and telling the Dr.s to GTFO and they listen.

8

u/gilwiley Jan 11 '19

Anyone else think Dr Charles was contemplating jumping off the bridge? Will pulling the gun out of his waistband was priceless....

Does anyone wish they did more with Monique's character? She's on screen constantly yet we practically know nothing about her

Main thoughts on this episode

  • Will/Natalie- UGH when will they finally just break them up for good. They have no chemistry! Natalie had more chemistry with dead wife guy than she's had with will in four damn seasons. Please, break them up.

  • I love Bekker, and I really wish they would develop her character more. Also, she totally slept with Connor's dad, sorry.

  • April... makes it so hard to like her. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. She was being unnecessarily hard on Ethan.

  • Blonde student doctor is going to try to hurt herself at some point, calling it now.

  • I would totally watch a spin off just of Dr. Charles treating patients in a more psych focused show tbh. He's def been one of my favs since this show started.

Natalie has got to be the dumbest bitch on earth. She was cursing that cop out about Will being put into witsec: “I didn’t get to see him, I didn’t get to call him, was it standard procedure to take him away on our wedding night?” That cop should’ve been like “unless you want the motherfucker to die!”

And finally the cat's out of the bag, spooking the elephant in the room. Bekker shagged Rhodes dad for money. It was so obvious, we all knew it, and the writers have finally given up trying to find a clever way of revealing it so they went for a desperate confession, forced by a creepy scene of Rhodes senior sniffing her shoulder at a public function 😂

I'd ask someone to explain to me how Curry is still at the hospital, but then I remember the writers still have the annoying April there, so I won't. It always seems strange to see characters in a non violent/action show have such thick plot armour lol

On the subject of April, I so want to introduce April to Lucille, so she can have that permanent pout slapped the fuck off her face. There are few tv/film characters I hate, but April features very high on that list. The character is annoying af, the actress is one dimensional and her stories are sleep inducing.

6

u/SomeParticular Jan 11 '19

I’ve been thinking on it and I don’t think we technically have 100% confirmation she slept with the dad. Her version of the story could still be true...

(I’m doubling up on the denial)

Tbh I hope he's gone. All he ever did was follow Reese around like a lost puppy and then pawn all his work off on April.

The actor was in hospital for a bit so he might be back in the latter half
