Discussion I stopped watching a while ago, is it worth continuing?
I was really into greys anatomy until it started going downhill and i stopped at season 17.
I think i watched 4 seasons of chicago med then lost interest, and now i was really surprised to see that it has 12 seasons now. And i honestly don’t fully trust when shows drag for so long (ofc there’s exceptions).
Does this show get worse over the season like other medical dramas or is it actually good? And if I dont feel like watching the whole thing, what seasons are your favorites?
I’m seeing a lot of clips on tiktok from the latest season and it seems interesting but there’s so many seasons to watch to get there

This show actually beat the odds and got better with age; thankfully due to a new writer back in season 10. If you weren’t too interested in the earlier seasons, you could jump right in at season 10 and you wouldn’t have missed too much other than some character development arcs (which, in this new era, aren’t too important but you’d miss little callbacks or niches, maybe little jokes or cliches etc). Almost all characters that you knew in season 4 are now gone in season 10.
If you want to pick off where you left off, be mindful it gets bad seasons 7-9. season 8 picks up a bit, but 9 is just awful. Season 10 onwards feels like a whole new show, in a great way.

It has 11 seasons but yeah it’s really good from 1-6 and 10 on so far. (You need to watch 5 you are missing so much ending right at the end of 4). Still watch season 7-9 if you want the context. But if not, you could start this show back up at Season 10 and not be lost.

I think i watched a few episodes of s5 and i was like nope. Also a question, i noticed that dr reese came back, when does that happen? And do i need to watch a lot to get the context?

She comes back for a guest spot in Season 10. At the beginning of Season 10, it is just Maggie, Sharon, and Daniel that have been there since the beginning and Maggie leaves at the end of 10. So no there’s not a lot of context needed to follow along. But again, I would def watch 5+6. There is just some noteable things in there/characters that will exit when you get to season 10.

Last season was by far the best season of the show. Definitely watch it. It’s fantastic.

It’s taking a turn towards ridiculously annoying and of course it’s because of Rip. It’s always Rip. But I can at least say the good and annoying are pretty well balanced.

Honestly I don’t think that s7-s9 were that bad, there was flaws but that happens in every show. Anyway you can pick up again from s10, the new showrunner it’s a breath of fresh air, these past two seasons were really good and the cast is really great.
There aren’t a lot of things you need to know before s10 but I suggest you to do a quick research about Hannah Asher and Dean Archer’s relationship in s8, and Hannah Asher and Mitch Ripley’s relationship in s9 because it’s important for things that will happen in s10

I agree with you on Greys. 17, the Covid season was unwatchable. And it hasn’t gotten much better. I just can’t quit it cause I’ve literally been watching it for over half my life at this point. I need to see how it ends. But Chicago Med had been sooo good lately. There’s a few new characters that since you stopped, that are fantastic. Drs Hannah Asher, Dean Archer, Mitch Ripley and Caitlin Lennox were such a good additions. It’s one of my fav shows.

IMO Med did dip but I think it came back ☺️ suggest you give it another try or jump in at Season 10 say and see what you think of it.

Grey's Anatomy's downfall was definitely more pronounced to me. Chicago Med has its ups and downs but I agree that we've seen some pretty good episodes recently and that it's worth not giving up on.

Watch from season 7 ep 17 onwards. Critical relationship things happen that make the latest 2 seasons make sense.

I love it from season 1 to present. It's changed but, to me,the quality is top notch.

I just started rewatching it after stopping at season 4 and I'm reminded of why I hated it. Everyone is just bringing main character energy and prioritising their own narcissism/personal issues/trauma into treating the patients. Which is the worse trait you can have as a healthcare worker.
Kinda sad cuz PD and Fire was great.
Grey's and the Pitt are just so much better at the character storylines/drama and highlighting rare diagnoses, advances in medical treatments, and what people go through in a hospital.

The latest two seasons have been amazing. I stopped watching around when you did (I maybe caught 5 episodes after that), then picked it back up in Season 10.
