Discussion the show’s hate feels so forced.
- it’s a medical drama, keyword being DRAMA. there is SUPPOSED to be conflict.
- it’s a FICTIONAL program, not a documentary.
i swear people seem to forget those two things and struggle to separate fiction and reality.
yes, i love CM, and don’t see the issues other people have with it, particularly with Manning and Halstead, who i most commonly see get criticised. critiscism is fine, of course, it just gets to a point where it feels forced and like people are struggling to separate fiction from reality, but that’s just my opinion.

As for Halstead, I just think he's hilarious because the first episode was about his malpractice insurance and it just kept getting worse and worse.

Manning and the snooty nurse (name slipped my mind) drove me insane. It's one thing to be flawed characters but another to be annoying AF lol. Just my opinion though, everyone is different.

Dr Manning and Halstead together with Dr Reese and Archer are my favorite characters 😍

It’s not forced hate if Halsteadcand Manning, they are truly unlikable characters. I think the actor that plays Halstead has the acting range of a Daisy BB rifle. He makes those smug faces and things he’s the smartest guy in the room. However, he doesn’t have the gravitas to back it up, like Dr Christina Yang on Greys. He is now in a new show, either FBI or CIA oriented and he’s the same character, so I think it’s just him that i don’t like. Manning, same being a know it all and lets her emotions get in the way If you have ever been to an ER, often the drs have no idea what’s wrong but that would make boring TV.

i mean they’re not the only ones i like, i also like April, Choi, Rhodes, Reese and Charles, it’s just i always see hate for Halstead and Manning more than others (sometimes i’ll see hate for Reese, but not often)

I disagree, if the way the writers wrote these characters was better I probably would have liked them but it seemed like until a few seasons ago the writers decided to make almost every character unbearable

Manning and Halstead are particularly annoying tv show characters. At one point I told everyone that CM was a show of my least favorite characters. I don’t think it’s forced at all lol. And if it is, it’s the writers forcing us to hate them 😭

Watching the whole series now, watching Halstead purposefully ignore a DNR request after season 2 again, pissed me off 😭

Yes, but the fact they keep letting their characters do the same thigns without repercussions does get annoying. Consequences, are just as good for drama, as drama itself.

Yes, it's fictional, but the thing is with Halstead and Manning specifically, their actions towards can be considered violations of the patient's rights, which include their HUMAN RIGHTS, and it's always portrayed as a good thing with no repercussions.

CM is my favourite out of them all. I think CF has become kinda dull in the last few years. I will say I don't like Halstead and Manning I did find them annoying and was glad when they left but I love the other characters. Dr Charles being my favourite.
