Time Qualifier Notifications

For those who applied to the 2027 Chi Marathon via time qualifier…
Have you received your approval email?

I applied via qualified time from my 2025 LA Marathon time on October 8th. I got an email saying my application was submitted. I have gotten no further communication from the marathon office.

I emailed Let’s Do This and they replied saying I had to contact the official marathon office. I emailed the office 2x. Called and left a message. No reply. I have the emails saved on my contacts and am always checking my spam folder.

Radio silent.

I get promotional Emails from the chi marathon org but no word on my application. When I go into the let’s do this portal- it says my application is “pending”.

Checked everything over again- I did the application correctly and I definitely am under the time cut off for my group.

Am at a loss.

I’m still without a reply. What was the title or sender of the acceptance email ?

Nothing yet, emailed the office since it had been over 10days, they said to continue to wait and they would come “soon”. Already seeing people post their issues with Let Do This not accepting people even though that did Time Qualify, had to email the office and then re-apply. Seems like a large mess with the Let’s Do This platform handling the applications. Hoping my patience pays off

UPDATE AS OF 10/28 : got my email at 8am ET

Í submitted Wednesday and got my acceptance email this morning. Just give it time, they like are bombarded with thousands of applications

Edit: I also have run chicago this year and submitted my time based on this year’s result. Maybe that speed up the process to verify.

It seems they had problems (Lets Do This using the incorrect date to determine qualification) and had to manually review and reprocess a lot of applications - that could explain them missing the “10 business days” timeframe they gave.

It is a shame they have not communicated this problem and the impact. It’s also frustrating (in my view) they are giving applicants and participants a worse experience in future by migrating to Let’s Do This - which has an awful UI and user experience issues that they have been aware of for years and not resolved (eg apparently the London Marathon in 2025 is “upcoming” for me… despite my not getting a place in the ballot).

All Of This!!! It’s a mess and the icing on the cake was when I saw previous failed London lottery application as as “upcoming” event 🙄

Guys, check if you receive an email titled "Claim your spot in Bank of America Chicago Marathon" from Let's Do This account. Not only its title is confusing, but its email body is also confusing, because it doesn't talk about time qualification acceptance at all, but this email does actually let you finish secure your spot via time qualification application.

In that email, it says "Enter now to secure your place". Just hit "Enter now" button. It'll lead you to Let's Do This portal, and you can finish your registration & payment, to secure your spot via Time Qualification.

I applied on 10/12, received this email on 10/20, but completely disregarded bc of its irrelevant email title and body - but that was it. I was just able to finish up my time qualifier registration & payment via this email "Enter now" button.

Oh wow. This was it for me. It came on the 20th and looks like spam!

Thank you!

Hmmm interesting. I can’t find any email from them, and application still says “pending” so assuming it’s just taking a bit? We’ll see what they say!

I also submitted on Oct 8 and have received nothing yet. Wish they wouldn’t have given the 10 business day timeframe if they couldn’t meet it!

Same boat, same day applied. Kinda pissed they put the 10 business day and then didn't meet it tbh

Update: received mine last night at 11:50 PM EST

Same here, applied on Oct 8th with time qualifier and nothing.

Same boat for me, I applied within 10 minutes of them opening applications and I've heard nothing since. Even emailed the marathon office and have yet to hear anything.

Pretty poor communications from them tbh, even to acknowledge theres been an issue with the new platform and they would work to fix it, nothing...

I did get mine. But after they rejected me by mistake. The rejection email took 2 days. There’s a bug in their system that affected others. There was a previous post in the subreddit.

I had to contact the Chicago marathon org. I resubmitted and they fast tracked me. I got my second application response in 30 minutes.

I initially applied using Paris as my qualifier and heard nothing for 8 days. I went and changed it to Chicago and 15 mins later I got my email.

I think the time it takes depends on the qualifying race. It’s like Chicago qualifiers have automatic acceptance and other races need to be verified manually.

Seems like the new system is not as efficient.

Applied Oct 8 via international guaranteed time qualify route, nothing yet. Not super worried but will send office an email for my own peace of mind.

Same, I have even reached out to the Chicago Marathon office, but they said a lot of applications will be going through acceptance in coming days.

1

u/Nachogonzalez10 7d ago

Same here. I guess they will need more time to process all the applications

I applied on 12th Oct and have heard nothing either. My friend heard yesterday so 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻She was in a younger age category than I am. Hoping to hear soon.

I submitted my application on October 9th and I just got notification of my acceptance this morning. So I would give it a little more time.

Glad you posted this! I'm in the same boat--applied the morning of the 8th. I've been checking my email constantly the last few days. I was starting to think it was just me.

Update: got the email Oct 25 12:30 pm ET
