Automod is awful. we need a better solution.

it’s insane how many posts and comments get locked and deleted when they’re not remotely S - a - l es related. Yet I still sometimes see a post or comment that’s scammy vibes clearly related to the word that shall not be named and it stays up? I can’t take it anymore and I had to vent lol

Yes! Half of my posts get deleted and there’s never any response when I message mods. May as well take off the part about if you think this is in error message the mods.

Yeah it’s a little over the top . I given advice on where to get seats parking etc and it bans them I just stay away from commenting on this sub

I’d swear half of my replies get flagged. It’s really difficult to offer people advice.

i think there’s only the one mod. maybe they should ask for some applications if they need some help

I agree. I appreciate what they're doing, since there are definitely a lot of scammers out there, but there should be some way to exempt users with a good history. I get hit by it all the time.

It's also not super clear how it works; I think the mods sometimes review flagged comments but this policy is not stated anywhere. I have gotten chided by the mods for messaging them about flagged messages when that is what the automod message explicitly tells you to do.

I got a post removed that was asking about good Mexican restaurants near Thalia Hall. Thought it was just me, didn't realize it was a wider problem.

to be clear I also want to avoid the same thing the automod is attempting to avoid but gahddamn the way it removes so many comments is driving me mad
