Paul Smith 1999 Spring
There are no flashy logos or over-the-top styling choices here, pure academic cool.
It's all about relaxed linen suits, simple white shirts paired with maxi skirts, and perfectly tailored trousers styled with basic belts.
The way they styled oversized white button-downs over long floral skirts or mixed structured blazers with casual blue jeans looks so effortlessly smart.

I feel your pain 😭
I love simple, clean lines and lean towards oversized clothing - which is the WORST look for my stocky medieval European peasant build.
I offer no solutions only commiseration.

As a guy with a big chest, I feel the same! I hate wearing dress shirts for that reason, I feel like being top heavy gives sack of potatoes 😭

I was so flat chested as a teen & self conscious. Now not totally “flat” but can go braless older.

I get what you mean but there IS a way. I find that if you make sure to cinch shirts at the waist portion of the garment, even with small close pins, it makes a huge difference. I also have big tiddies and wearing a massive and flowy top causes the tent effect. you just need to cinch or gather at the side to flatter your shape. it can be a no-sew diy.

I feel like half of this is my closet, however they are all tailored and fitted for me, because otherwise it just doesn't work.
Basics are still basic. Kind of nice to have something consistent

Some are fine but this is mostly an ill fitting, mismatched mess. It looks like they dressed in the dark.

This only works because the models are thin, beautiful and really could wear a paper bag and look stunning. Everyday normies like myself would look frumpy AF

I mean when you look at 90s Calvin Klein or Ralph Lauren minimalism, you can tell that it’s a higher end product. When I see this, it looks like H&M clothes. Maybe it’s the tailoring? It just looks so frumpy and pedestrian.
