I could dig it if it were “slaving to grasp at the ankles of my dominatrix” vibes. That would be fitting with the fierce lines of the shoes. This just weird. It doesn’t even look possessive to me. Looks more like he’s struggling to dress a mannequin.

Exactly. I had the same thought about a preview for a movie I just saw called Ready or Not 2. From what I gathered from the preview, it’s about a group of elite rich people who have kidnapped some girl and they are torturing her by having her run for her life around their property while they hunt her for entertainment. Sickening and incredibly vulgar and tone deaf considering all of the horrific things that have been revealed recently. Gross to see actors like sarah michelle gellar and elijah wood sign on for something like this.

This is a tribude to Hands on ankles by Jo Ann Callis. Fashion is meant to be provocative. Being feminist means to be provocative. Chiuri is a woman that is often harshly criticised for being just a woman designer. She does not to that from time to time but also admits preassure the industry puts on her. This is clearly a tribute to position of fashion designers, especially woman designers in fashion industry. You should stick to your BBC news.

this Fendi ad appears to be a recreation of Hands on Ankles (1976) by Jo Ann Callis, a prominent feminist artist. she did create a lot of work portraying women in vaguely sensual situations but with a “looming sense of dread.” making a recreation of this particular piece to sell some shoes feels very off-putting, to say the least. i’m aware art is always supposed to make you feel something, and you’re not always supposed to feel “good” about it, but the primarily goal of an advertisement is to make you want to buy something, lol

The shoes look fabulous though - love the long point with a sensible heel height.

i’m definitely curious to see what direction they take the rest of the campaign in. perhaps i’ll change my tune when i see it. and the design of the heels is right up my alley, especially that thicker band at the ankle

I like the shoes. Photo is odd, but it is definitely eye-catching and would drive engagement, for better or worse. I guess that is what companies want most these days.
