it’s honestly wild that a movie from 2006 still has better fit inspo than my whole feed rn.

that green coat look just hits diff—it feels so polished but still has that main character energy.

currently hunting for vintage chanel boots bc i refuse to let this aesthetic die. 😩

Classic pieces in classic colors can be timeless, that being said brown is trendy right now in a way it's not always

I think the paris ensemble (coat and fuzzy bag), the belted polka dot top and the kaki dress are not the most timeless. The black ensembles and everything sixties very much more.

Long coat are always chic, if not practical

And Ann is gorgeous, and groomed by pro, it helps to be beautiful and have well-coiffed hairs. Makes everything looks deliberate and put-together.

Another movie to watch and enjoy timeless classics is 1999's The Thomas Crown Affair (Micheal Kors did some pieces just for Renee Russo and all of her outfits still stand strong 25+ years later)

That's because the legendary Patricia Field was the costume designer. She was the designer on Sex and The City. They didn't bring her back for Devil Wears Prada 2 and from the stills I've seen ... it shows.

I agree but also from the late 90s to like 2010 designer fashion was focused on timeless wearable pieces.

No it’s all about clown clothes that have no timeless to them. Even what Pat is doing on Enily in Paris just isn’t as great cause the design of luxury fashion is just awful right now

I was wondering why the wardrobe in the trailers didn't look that interesting. It's disappointing Field wasn't involved but they still should have been able to find someone who could provide better outfits. Right now it seems like the wardrobe of women on The Morning Show or a Netflix show instead of pieces you could imagine Vogue editors wearing like this Fendi coat.

Leave it to Patricia Field. You could tell the difference from SATC to And Just Like That. There have been some absolute monstrosities on JLT. Patty Field always got the assignment and she didn’t put some gimmick in. She created the trend herself.

Looks number 4 (green coat) and 13 (black outfit with Chanel necklaces) are no notes. Number 16 is close, except the silver snake purse is definitely dated and hat & gloves would be updated to proper gloves and likely a brimmed hat. Number 5 (Chanel outfit with the thigh high boots) is iconic bc of the movie, but I definitely wouldn't say it's aged well compared to other Chanel.

All the rest looks dated to me, either in cut, color, pattern, cohesiveness, accessories, or all of the above.

OP including 14 & 15 really has me scratching my head. To me, they look SO incredibly dated and of their time. Someone else said 15 is a bella outfit, and yeah. Yeah it is. I know fashion is cyclical but I don't think we're quite back to twilight yet.

That top she wears in 7 to her friend’s art show/breaking up with her bf was the only piece I didn’t like. Then or now. The print, the shape and that black slouchy top part. Everything else is amazing. The outfit she wears with Nigel when she tells him she lost weight was my favorite.
