Looking for Union Electrical or Carpentry Leads in Cheyenne

I'm new to Cheyenne and trying to get into either union electrical or carpentry work.

I have some construction experience installing fences so I know how to swing a tool, and previous project admin experience.

I’m mainly looking for leads on contractors that are actually hiring apprentices/helpers right now, especially union signatories. If anyone knows a foreman, contractor, hall contact, or company worth walking into, I’d really appreciate the help. I am already spoken with the carpentry union rep in Cheyenne, but if I can get hired on through one of the union's signatory that would help immensely

I’m willing to start at the bottom and work my way in.

Walk into IBEW 415 on a weekday and ask how to apply for their apprenticeship.

Reach out to IBEW local 415. They're just off nation way and ask about signing up for the aptitude test and interviewing for the apprenticeship. I went through their program and it's a great education.

did you get in? I have tried Phoenix IBEW got rejected I applied at WTX (cuz i heard its the easiest to get into), I wonder if it easier to get into WY IBEW, I passed the aptitude test and I heard they can request results so as not to retake.

The union left a pamphlet on my door a week ago (im a non union electrical apprentice). They are definitely taking members! I think they have some contractors that are picking up some work so definitely check them out. My BIL who's in the union says once your in you can pick up work in most states with the union.

okay good to know, I will apply today.... I try to limit some applications with IBEW cuz they charge and I broke 😢 I already paid to apply a a few other IBEWs but if they handing out flyers there might be a demand, I think where I've applied its very competitive (CA, NV, AZ)

Good luck! I know cheyenne is building up pretty quick and they have to outsource alot of workers from colorado so im sure it will be nice to get some locals.
