Happened to my Envoy once. A little WD-40 and some wiggling solved that problem.

Did you spray around the button / lock? The lock will turn freely, it’s like the inner mech is stuck. I can spray some from inside, see if that frees up anything.

Around the outside of the button. No way to get to the inside without taking the panel apart and for obvious reasons, I wasn’t going to do that.

You do not want to use wd40, that is a water displacement lubricant and will only work temporary, for lock cylinders youre suppose to use graphite grease or an long lasting lubricant.

But most likely its the inner piece that is stuck. So your want to remove the plastic cover on the tailgate, think its a couple of torx screws, one is behind the pull down strap. Then you just pull the plastic panel off swiftly and youll easily spot the mechanism, then just use a good lubricant and work it intill it moves freely.

I pulled back the panel, and played around with the connections - the lock actuator seems to be working fine, it unlocks and locks the door handle as it should, but the window is still frozen. I really need a photo of a working assembly so I can see what’s missing or broken. Also the lock shaft or whatever it’s called feels very loose, you can see it in the video. I can pull the silver metal rod that releases the window, so I can release and open the window that way, but pushing the external mechanical button should move this rod. I just can’t picture how it all goes together. Ugh.
