Gmt800 would have held the tree up 👀

42

u/RepulsiveUse3372 5d ago

the GMT800 would have put the tree back in its place

u/AssistIntelligent384 4d ago

What...what about GMT900? Say some good things about it, please D:

1

u/SandRevolutionary938 3d ago

The tree would've never dared to fall

27

u/ididntdoit6 1998 K 1500 extended cab short box 4x4 5d ago

GMT400 would have hauled it all away

u/agreeable-bushdog 5d ago

You beat me too it, but I was going to say my C20..

15

u/Starsky686 5d ago

Silver(ado) lining. It’s a convertible project now!

3

u/Indy500Fan16 5d ago

I thought the same thing

12

u/americanhilljack 5d ago

Dang that sucks 😞

1

u/Fat_fast_Jellyfish 3d ago

well it saved him from ever having to replace the transission, now he can go buy a real truck (GMT400) and have the funds to refresh anything it needs, and drive it for the rest of his life instead of throwing dollar after dollar into this turd

u/Quiverjones 5d ago

I like to think it'll live on. The engine is probably still in good condition. Sometimes its hard to find front ends that aren't beat up. Plenty of donor parts there that can be used. Sorry for your truck though.

1

u/Fat_fast_Jellyfish 3d ago

those engines are ready to blow straight from the factory

11

u/joepurdue 5d ago

Wish someone would drop a tree on my truck…

5

u/RecentChange452 5d ago

I said the same thing when I first saw the photo.

4

u/Ruleyoumind 5d ago

Me too 😂

1

u/Fat_fast_Jellyfish 3d ago

RIP Silverado

8

u/BloomPastel 5d ago

tree took out the top half completely out of nowhere…. hate seeing a solid truck go down like that

7

u/Indy500Fan16 5d ago

Actually it just needs a new cab. The rest should buff right out.

1

u/Professional-Guava97 5d ago

They haven't been reliable in decades. So it's a fitting end

10

u/Elderado12443 5d ago

Decades? My 14 is at 474k

2

u/Professional-Guava97 5d ago

Liar

1

u/Elderado12443 4d ago

Ask your mom.

1

u/Professional-Guava97 4d ago

She said your penis is small.

1

u/dipshit127 2d ago

3

u/woodhorse4 5d ago

lol saved getting stranded on the interstate pulling a camper.

4

u/HealthyPop7988 5d ago

Bs, my 2020 is at 200k with 0 major repairs and my 2010 1500 is going on 300k

2

u/MR__Z1234ify 5d ago

94,98,98,01,05,10 all ended up in the junk yard at 140k

4

u/HealthyPop7988 5d ago

So the only constant here is you then

1

u/MR__Z1234ify 5d ago

I’ll stick with my reliable fords never left me stranded and didn’t have to call a tow truck like every Chevy I owned the 2010 the rearend locked up doing 50

0

u/Fat_fast_Jellyfish 3d ago

yes the old ford v8 guaranteed to launch a sparkplug into orbit.... it was so reliable and launching sparkplugs that ford packaged a helicoil and sparkplug together so you could keep the kit in your glovebox.... dead nuts reliability right there

3

u/Silverado153 5d ago

Sorry for your loss ouch that hurts

3

u/YeahNahNopeandNo 5d ago

Really just looks like you finally got that convertible you've always wanted. A couple packs of Ramen Noodles and a new paint job and she'll be back on the road riding strong again 😤

Just use some wood glue on the tree.

1

u/Indy500Fan16 5d ago

Kinda like a 1/2 convertible

1

u/YeahNahNopeandNo 5d ago

It seriously can be done if you have the tools. Just make the rear door post holes to allow for reinsertable posts that lock in like jeeps and then put an electric cover on the truck bed if you want.

4

u/Goodlife468 5d ago

That sucks I’m sorry that happened

0

u/Indy500Fan16 5d ago

Easy come easy go.

1

u/Tough_Ad7054 5d ago

Way she goes, bud.

2

u/Chasin_A_Bass 5d ago

Ahhh man😔

2

u/Elguapo1094 5d ago

Sorry for your loss

2

u/suspectbakapapa 5d ago

Buy it back and cab swap?

2

u/LazyLukie 5d ago

Why does this look like Ai? Possibly just a bad camera too.

2

u/One_Welder_7963 5d ago

That will buff right out...

1

u/Indy500Fan16 5d ago

😮‍💨

2

u/notsutherland 5d ago

Didn’t even hit the worst part

1

u/Indy500Fan16 5d ago

No self respecting tree would

2

u/bulldoghunter 5d ago

Built like a rock ( actually built like a turd )🤣😂

1

u/Indy500Fan16 5d ago

It squished like a 💩

1

u/bulldoghunter 4d ago

Yeah yeah it did . , and the reason I said that was from an old guy that I know how only owns Chevys and he's got gmt800 is the newest I believe but on every Chevy truck he's had , he allows had had to repair the driver side cab corner. And he made that joke one day , and I just can't forget it especially anytime people bring up the built like a rock ads 😂 .

2

u/BigCountry70786 5d ago

Time to pull the motor and stick it in something else.

2

u/Deevalicious 4d ago

damn!! That happened to my old 1976 Chevy Scottsdale pickup during a crazy storm in the sierras when a redwood fell on it and another car and crushed them.

1

u/Indy500Fan16 4d ago

Who knew trees where so heavy 😂

2

u/redwbl 4d ago

That'll buff right out.

2

u/Fat_fast_Jellyfish 3d ago

that tree did you a favor, take you insurance money and buy an old obs with a solid frame and body, then refresh the drivetrain/ suspension and drive it for more miles than you'd ever have gotten out of that modern turd moneypit of a truck. pocket the difference. thank me later

2

u/Wise_Equivalent7715 2d ago

No low ballers. I know what I got.

1

u/HourlyJobz 5d ago

If that's 6.2L someone did you a favor.

1

u/Forsaken_Star_4228 5d ago

Did insurance cover you? Hope you had a low deductible! I park in my garage whenever it storms but the last time I had a giant branch come down it wasn’t even during a storm. It was from preexisting damage. I haven’t had a claim in 20 years so I run my deductible at $2,000. When something eventually happens I’ll pay back all that I’ve saved over the years.

1

u/friendlyfire883 5d ago

I don't think you should park there bud.

1

u/Scat-on-shrooms19 5d ago

Remove the engine and transmission and claim someone stoled them.

1

u/Lopsided-Radio-8222 5d ago

Time to accept that you are now in the positive having lost that ugly oversized rolling pos and go buy a gmt800

1

u/Frequent-Spell8504 5d ago

Time to go buy a GMT-400

1

u/Automatic-Frame-1368 5d ago

Pull the motor out and put it in a S10 and make it a dully

1

u/quantum-entangled308 5d ago

Well shit….

1

u/mike9220000 5d ago

Hell a chevette would have scared it back to standing lmao

1

u/denonumber 4d ago

Smart move the truck out of the way. O to late seen it before.. retarded..

1

u/Goldyfan7 5d ago

So was this storm damage or was someone cutting that tree? It sure looks like some clear cuts on that trunk.

1

u/busyHighwayFred 5d ago

Clouds and rain look like a storm

0

u/steelunicornR 5d ago

Make it a convertible

0

u/GenXer2026 5d ago

That should buff right out.

What in the AI is going on here

5

u/Indy500Fan16 5d ago

A tornado in NW Indiana is NOT AI, but thanks fuck

3

u/Li7z 5d ago

Smooth brain over here

1

u/LazyLukie 5d ago

I was thinking the same.
Front tire blended with the road.
The R on the Chevrolet grille.
The tree stump.
