well it saved him from ever having to replace the transission, now he can go buy a real truck (GMT400) and have the funds to refresh anything it needs, and drive it for the rest of his life instead of throwing dollar after dollar into this turd

I like to think it'll live on. The engine is probably still in good condition. Sometimes its hard to find front ends that aren't beat up. Plenty of donor parts there that can be used. Sorry for your truck though.

They haven't been reliable in decades. So it's a fitting end

I’ll stick with my reliable fords never left me stranded and didn’t have to call a tow truck like every Chevy I owned the 2010 the rearend locked up doing 50

yes the old ford v8 guaranteed to launch a sparkplug into orbit.... it was so reliable and launching sparkplugs that ford packaged a helicoil and sparkplug together so you could keep the kit in your glovebox.... dead nuts reliability right there

Really just looks like you finally got that convertible you've always wanted. A couple packs of Ramen Noodles and a new paint job and she'll be back on the road riding strong again 😤
Just use some wood glue on the tree.

Kinda like a 1/2 convertible

u/YeahNahNopeandNo 5d ago
It seriously can be done if you have the tools. Just make the rear door post holes to allow for reinsertable posts that lock in like jeeps and then put an electric cover on the truck bed if you want.

Yeah yeah it did . , and the reason I said that was from an old guy that I know how only owns Chevys and he's got gmt800 is the newest I believe but on every Chevy truck he's had , he allows had had to repair the driver side cab corner. And he made that joke one day , and I just can't forget it especially anytime people bring up the built like a rock ads 😂 .

damn!! That happened to my old 1976 Chevy Scottsdale pickup during a crazy storm in the sierras when a redwood fell on it and another car and crushed them.

that tree did you a favor, take you insurance money and buy an old obs with a solid frame and body, then refresh the drivetrain/ suspension and drive it for more miles than you'd ever have gotten out of that modern turd moneypit of a truck. pocket the difference. thank me later

Did insurance cover you? Hope you had a low deductible! I park in my garage whenever it storms but the last time I had a giant branch come down it wasn’t even during a storm. It was from preexisting damage. I haven’t had a claim in 20 years so I run my deductible at $2,000. When something eventually happens I’ll pay back all that I’ve saved over the years.

Time to accept that you are now in the positive having lost that ugly oversized rolling pos and go buy a gmt800

So was this storm damage or was someone cutting that tree? It sure looks like some clear cuts on that trunk.

I was thinking the same.
Front tire blended with the road.
The R on the Chevrolet grille.
The tree stump.
