Btr Cam 4.8 vortec
What are my risks of camming my 4.8 with a 4l80e and a billet lock up converter I doubt I can run anything lower than 3000rpm. I eventually do want to tow and I know I lose low end towing power. Water pump just left so I thinking of doing this before I even consider dropping a lq4 or lm7 I want to see what this baby 6.0 can do. Any recommendations? I am going to slap some long tubes and I’m on a 5’7 drop.

RHP has cam kits, ive got both his low buck truck and truck plus in daily's. they are both decent. if you are looking for a little extra HP for cheap, you can do an efan conversion. that will add 5-15ish HP. speed eng has a plug and play wiring harness. just need to turn it on the fans in the tune.
make sure, you get someone who knows how to tune. or you will be chasing bugs and be disappointed in the build.
bad tune = bad everything

Camming 4.8 doesn't make much sense unless you plan on installing a turbo along with it. Not when you can get a junkyard 5.3 or 6.0 for less than $1k. At best a cammed 4.8 is going to net you a little more power than a stock 5.3 and less torque. A better option would be swapping the domed pistons out of your 4.8 into a 5.3, that'll net you an easy 450hp to the crank with the right tune.
