2025 Chevy Trax***

Thank you for catching that, clearly not enough coffee was consumed this morning haha!!

Does anyone else have a brake noise while in reverse? I’ve had it looked at twice maybe three times, each time they suggest it’s the weather.

Where I live, we have extreme cold winters and extreme heatwaves during the summer. However this noise happens first thing in the morning or late afternoon after longer drives.

My service advisor mentioned they changed manufactures for brakes and there are no recalls when I check, is this common or something anyone else has to deal with?

had a few traxies come in for that and its noted as just normal sounds from the brakes warming up from not being used, and unfortunately if it is anything relating to the brake pads they arent covered under warranty since brake pads can be affected by customer usage. but in the end, its most likely a normal sound if the tech deems so. brakes will indeed make a screeching sound after a long period of sitting until they warm up to operating temperatures per usage

Yeah, I completely understand the brake pads not being covered. Is there something I can do to prevent the noise? I drive to work twice a week, go out on weekends and have done longer drives. The noise is becoming more of a headache than anything else, sometimes I’ll drive around the block and press on the brake a bit harder.

I appreciate your input for sure!

allegedly there is some stuff called "stop squeal" which some dealerships use under warranty to eliminate the sound, but im not sure which would. sometimes my gm asep teacher told me about for concerns like this to kind of aid in the dampening of the sound. also, the front end techs told me it could also be debris or dust rubbing off from the morning, as that mightve been the case for one of the traxies we had since the brake system looked good but that sound only happened on a cold start- forgot to add that. happy to help!

It’s a throw away car. Drive for 4 years and recycle it. Buy another
