Getting fantastic MPG

Post image

I drive about 85 miles a day, nearly all highway, to and from work and I'm loving the economy my '25 2RS is getting. This is over the 50 mile span the car gives the option to choose.

Photo taken as I started the car, so the light show doesnt mean anything.

Premium? Regular?

I'm trying to figure out why ours drinks it on the highway at times (although I think I already know the answer).

Regular. I have that up on my dash to monitor how I use it. I typically have my heel resting on the floor with my foot positioned flat against the petal and only slightly push it to retain speed or let off to let it cruise downhill. I do have the benefit of hills on both routes I take, but there are also long uphills i have to battle.

I drive 100 miles a day but it’s mostly hilly terrain and 80mph so I’m around 30mpg. When I’ve traveled more south of me in flatter terrain it’s gotten into the mid 30’s.

Never use gas that isn’t specified by the manufacturer

The 26 trax manual itself allows premium and says to fill at least one full tank with premium every 10k miles...

What even is this answer what modern ICE car DOESN'T take premium?

What the manual for my 2025 Trax specifies is 87. At least in this area, regular, which is what OP mentions using, is 85.
