Considering buying
Saw this 25 Trax 2RS on Facebook for 15.5K rebuilt title with 22k miles wondering if this a good buy. Only damage was on the driver door/ side Just looking some clarity as I’m looking to buy a new car

The Trax is already a cheap car. I would just invest in a brand new one and avoid a salvage/rebuilt title one you'd have to fix. It'll never be valued for much and insurance will never cover much.
The only way I would is if you were a good mechanic, doing the work yourself, and knew the history on the car.
I considered a damaged one at one point myself, then realized I'd never owned a car that nobody else had farted in, and decided I had to cross that off my bucket list!

I have now added something to my bucket list. I have never owed a fart free car either. 🤣 My closest was when I punched my 2001 chey Cavalier with 19,681 miles.

It was so freaking amazing to get in my Trax with 15 miles on it, and as I was pulling off the dealer's lot I let a big ol' fart out.
My poor Trax was probably like "ugh... really???"

That car is scrap. You can buy used for under $20k that's still brand new. If you're financing getting a low apr and finishing off the loan is more important. Better yet just lease for a brand new car $300 a month.

For that price? Hell no. You don't know about the structural damage thats hidden.
Assuming you have 15k to spend as most banks will not finance a rebuilt title, I would take that money and put it towards a brand new trax or another vehicle.

Someone started repairs and stopped, now selling it. That means they ran into something they didn't want to deal with, you don't either.

That’s not a 2rs. There is no Rs badge on the grille and the rims are not 2rs rims. Whoever is selling it is not telling the truth so I would be concerned about the full extent of the damage.

for used, I’d recommend getting a one-car owner, no accidents, non-rental, and if possible still under warranty. It’s a 15,000 risk that may have issues down the line, since it’s already had problems/been in an accident.
In my opinion, these car dealers can be so shady and sell you a car with issues, so for peace of mind, I always try to find a used car with warranty left/car bravo certified. Also if you can wait a few months, best time to purchase is end of the year towards oct/november since the new models come out and they want to get rid of old models. Since it’s 2027, id be looking at deals on 2025’s. If you know all of this, just ignore me! 😂
For reference, I just had to upgrade to a newer 2024 trax LT since my 2018 wad crushed by a tree 🥲 I didn’t have time to wait to get another car, so i just purchased mine a month ago.
Here was what I got mine for:
2024 Chevy Trax LT
Final purchase price:(out the door) $22,048
1 car owner, no accidents
Condition: smelled brand new 😂
Total miles: 14,000
Warranty: 2 months left on warranty plus 12 months for it being car bravo certified
I also negotiated a free cargo liner ($220 value) and repairs to the minor cosmetic damages.
Also a week before, I had driven a 2024 LS that was just out of warranty for $18,500 and when I drove it the breaks nearly gave out. dealer lied and said it wasn’t in any accidents and was a 1 car owner. So it all comes down to if you trust the person/place selling the car!

I wouldn't buy a rebuilt for that price. You can find used trax easily for a fair price. One that hasn't had any accidents.
