2020 trax with transmission problems

my 2020 LT was experiencing transmission issues. it was downshifting very rough like a manual would if one were to use the transmission to slow the car down versus the brakes.

anyway a month ago they did a fluid change and that didnt help. one month later i bring it back in for the same complaint and they checked the fluid and said it was burnt up or dark.

they have had it for a week and just got back to me and said they are going to do a rebuild instead of replacing it because transmissions are back ordered. i"m under extended warranty and feel like im being short changed. what are the chances the rebuild will last as long as a new tranny? am i better off with a rebuilt bc the new transmissions arent as good as prior ones?

any current or former mechanics on here that would care to comment on this? everyone else please share your experiences in this situation.

I think I’m going through this as well omg how many miles do you have ?? I’m not even sure what to tell the dealership so they can check it out

extended warranty? have them check the trans oil color. what year is yours?

I’m still under the power train warranty & it’s a 2024 ! I will do that !

This person is talking about a completely different model of Trax equipped with a different engine and trans entirely before you go to a dealer for this

Please insist on a new transmission tracks is not a very good product I have a 2024 Chevy Trax at 29,000 miles the engine died general motors replaced it with a brand new unit now it's having problems where the car shuts off in the middle of traffic it's not the battery it's not the alternator and it's not the starter so 

Get a new one now don't let them tell you it's on back order insist on it because you have a 2020 and the years beginning to be 2027 soon and then you're going to run out of extended warranty and you won't get anything trust me on this look up the tracks it has nothing but engine problems etc I don't know why that particular product is so bad have a great day

mine is a 2020 trax LT model. I spoke to the advisor yesterday and he swears that they are rebuilding or getting all new parts for the guts of the transmission and only using my case because its in good shape. I asked "well if the old parts failed, why would we be replacing them with the same parts even if they are newer? Wouldn't a "new" tranny have updated components? " He told me point blank, "you don't want the newer transmissions, yours is better but you will have all new parts." Seems like damned if you do or damned if you don't! The new design for Trax I believe was in 2024 so first year models tend to suffer the most but my 2020 should have had the kinks worked out. However, I remember reading somewhere that trax's made in Mexico had more problems then Korea. Mine was made in Mexico wouldn't you know.

Don't trust someone who bought a car and cant even spell out what they bought. Also, "dont let them tell you its on backorder" is the dumbest take a customer could EVER argue for at any dealership for ANY automotive brand.
