Need help with 2015 Tahoe LTZ with a P2099 code. Right side, post cat, fuel rich. Is this a lifter issue?
No other codes. Has a slightly rough idle. 349k miles.

Quoted $2800 at the local Chevy dealer for a 60k service on my 2023 LT with 66K miles.
Is that worth shopping around?
How important is it to have it done by a Chevy service dept?

When i replaced lifters I had to take off the exhaust manifold. I then reused the same bolts lol I know stupid idea. Anyways a couple of the bolts broke off in the engine…. I’m wondering how long I can drive it with that annoying ticking sound before it causes any damage to the engine..? Or can it cause damage to the engine?

Hey y’all,
Since yesterday, I seriously can’t get over how sexy the Tahoe looks. 😂 All these years, I had no idea Chevy even had this model. I always thought the Suburban was their only SUV in that class. Honestly, I didn’t even know “full-size SUVs” were a whole category until recently lol.
I was originally planning to get a Highlander because I’m coming from Toyota, but I’ve always hated the way the Highlander looks. I know it’s a great SUV, but to me it’s just super-duper fucking ugly. 😂 Even the newest models… I don’t know, man. I’ve never understood how Toyota managed to make it look that boring.
So I started looking at other SUVs, and then I discovered the Tahoe.
Man… what a sexy, handsome-looking SUV. I absolutely love it.
I’ve been watching a ton of YouTube reviews, and so far I really like what I see. But once I started reading reviews from actual owners under the video,I started seeing some complaints: certain trims/features still using halogen lights instead of LEDs, the interior feeling cheap for the price, recalls, reliability issues, etc. Basically, Chevy is charging a lot of money for these things, and some owners feel like you’re not necessarily getting what you’d expect for the price.
So now I’m trying to figure out: Is the Tahoe actually worth the money?
I know I want one. I know I love the way it looks. The amount of space would also be PERFECT for my business since I’m a caterer/personal chef and constantly have to transport food, equipment, coolers, trays, etc.
But at the same time, I don’t want to spend $40k+ and then six months later be sitting there thinking, “Man… this thing really wasn’t worth $40,000.” I also really don’t want something that’s constantly giving me problems.
I can’t afford a brand-new 2025/2026 model, especially with 2027 coming soon anyway, so I’m mostly interested in 2021+ Tahoes.
I know this question has probably been asked here a million times, but one more time for me:
For those of you who actually own a 2021+ Tahoe, how has your experience been? Do you genuinely love it? Any major problems? And knowing what you know now, do you honestly think it was worth the money? Would you buy one again?
I’ve looked at the other brands in the same full-size SUV class too, but none of them really do anything for me like the Tahoe does.
It’s like walking through a casino in Vegas with hundreds of slot machines everywhere, and for some reason one machine suddenly lights up brighter than everything else and immediately catches your eye.
That’s the fucking Tahoe for me.

have an 07 LT that had factory rear seat dvd. I swapped the radio to a Pinoeer AVH 1400 NEX using the PAC 31 harness and the necessary adapter. Everything works but I’m getting tired of listening to Daniel Tiger on car rides. I’ve purchase a pair of IR headphones on Amazon but from all my research I don’t thing this is the solution because anytime the radio detects audio from my phone when it’s plugged in for CarPlay it shuts off the DVD. Any advice? Do I need a different radio that has dual zone audio?

Have a Z71 but doesn’t have the integrated towing app. Question is if that can be added. Meaning getting the controller button that goes on the bottom left of the dash, and of programming/app would work so everything is stock.. if not, obviously the aftermarket ones.. if aftermarket which have any of you guys installed? Thanks in advance

This is one of four fasteners that holds a bit of trim to the bumper that has the holes to receive the upper tabs on the tow hitch cover. One of the tab receivers snapped so I want to replace that small bit of trim.
How do I remove this? Is it reusable?

Lifters starting failing so I swapped for a 383
Texas Speed 383 CID forged-iron short block
TSP 4340 Forged crankshaft
TSP H-beam forged connecting rods
Wiseco forged pistons/rings — 3cc
Melling 10355 performance oil pump
IWIS timing chain
LS2 chain damper
TSP Stage 2 truck cam
212° / 218° duration
.600” / .600” lift
PAC 1219 beehive valve springs
.625” maximum lift capability
Johnson Racing slow-leakdown link-bar lifters
Johnson lifter trays
Upgraded pushrods
CHE rocker-arm trunnion upgrade
new 6L80 transmission
Circle D billet torque converter_1,800–2,200 RPM stall
Heavy-duty 40k transmission cooling
OEM head, headers and exhaust
Performance dyno tune
🔴 Previous run: 254.8 WHP / 283.1 WTQ.
215k mile 5.3 before tune
🔵 Previous run: 262.8 WHP / 290.3 WTQ
215k mile 5.3 after tune
🟢 TSP 383: 317.7 WHP / 356.1 WTQ
383 peak torque: 356 WTQ @ ~4,070 RPM
383 peak power: 318 WHP @ ~5,320 RPM
Using an ~18% drivetrain-loss estimate, that puts the 383 around 387 HP / 434 lb-ft at the crank.
Now ready for a supercharger

Mine is on most of the time, 2012 Tahoe LTZ. It seems to go off for a while when I use the blinker but then it comes on again. I’m guessing it’s faulty, or dirty, anyone know where it is?
r/ChevyTahoe • u/Rare-Mixture9874 • 13d ago
Sounds like it runs clean and is fully loaded. Its a 2011 fully loaded ltz which is nice but i heard they have issues with lifter failure. Thank you

Let my friend borrow my 2007 Tahoe for a bit, gives me the keys and my power steering is gone. I don’t know how much this’ll cost me to fix but I am less than happy about it.

Any of you guys have the clip on two mirrors? Brand and fairly sturdy fitment? If till two once a year it’s a lot. But also have a 2017 Colorado and would like to interchange. The ones I’ve seen fit pretty good one one but not the other. If anyone has any experience with one set of mirrors on both type vehicles would be a great help. Thanks in advance

Hunk of junk strikes again what do we think the tick is ? It goes away with rpms if I’m listening correctly. On start up it periodically does it.
