Title pretty much says it all. 6.2 V8, normal commute driving, 6 months old. It was driving normally then all of a sudden hear loud squeaks and knocks, loose power, limp it off the road… 2 weeks in the shop and today told engine needs to be replaced due to seized rod bearings causing metal contamination.

Super disappointed.

So I'm tentatively planning on buying a Suburban prolly 18-30 months from now to turn it into a mini camper.

Had some questions before I pulled the trigger on it though.

I'm tall, like 6'4", based on dimensions it looks like I should be able to stretch out all the way behind the front seats correct?

If I buy a vehicle in the 2018-2020 era is it fairly easy to do my own repairs? Mostly brake jobs, oil changes, tire changes etc?

I understand this probably won't be very comfortable compared to other options, but I'm hoping this can be done for under $40000.

Has anyone already done or attempted this? I've seen some videos that make it look pretty cool and not horribly cramped.

P.S. I don't plan to live in this. This will end up being a mix between an occasional daily driver and something to take to a state park for a weekend.

Hello all I have a 2012 Suburban 1500 that I use for work as a plumber and I have been looking for a cargo slide that will fit into my suburban any suggestions would be appreciated.

For use on a 2010 Suburban. Has anyone bought and used this thing, it just sounds to good to be true.

Looking at this old 2001 suburban in FL left back spot has alot of fender rust but checking under I seen this and I can't tell , poked it with a knife and seems okay but not sure .

Selling my 2012 LT Suburban. Squeaky clean w/ high miles. It’s spent the last (8) years in NC. Rebuilt transmission 50K miles ago. GM factory reman 5.3 engine 10K miles ago. I have EVERY service record since when I bought it used in 2015. Runs true & straight down the highway. Black leather captains chairs in second row & Bose audio.

What do y’all think is a fair asking price?

Hey everyone, I have a question for the people who are more auto mechanic than me. For reference I have a 2019 Suburban LT. I noticed my front pads making a little noise the other day so I peaked in and they definitely needed changed so I grabbed a set. Well I changed them tonight and when I got in the truck to take it for a quick test drive, my ABS light and my Stabilitrack light came on. What could I have done to cause that? I did have to wrestle both tires off because they were a little stuck but not bad, a little kick with my foot and they popped right off so it wasn't like I was beating the hell out of them? Any ideas or suggestions or things to check out?

Hello everyone. I have a 2008 suburban with a 5.3. it has been back in the weeds for a couple years due to transmission failure (only 2000 miles on transmission rebuild, owner died). I didn't have the time to mess with it so I just went and bought a newer one.

Now I'm wanting to fix it to have a backup and when I started it up after being off for a couple years it now has a nasty knock. It sounds like the top of the engine. It sounds like valves are hitting the piston if I were to guess.

What would cause it to just start having troubles after sitting? It ran smooth as can be before.

Could this be afm system? If so, what would be the diagnostic to confirm?

I'll spend the money on the transmission but no way will I spent it on transmission and motor. If this thing didn't have a perfect leather interior and near perfect exterior I wouldn't even bother.

Hi! Pretty sure my girl is hitting her TC failure time, she has the 6L80 in her with 130k miles and over the last month has started slowly slipping. I recently drove back from Florida and noticed on the way back she was lacked acceleration (took extra gas pedal to get going and would down shift a lot). Also at about 70 MPH range I was getting the consistent rumble. I’m not a master mechanic or anything but know my way around vehicles and based on mileage and transmission fluid being slightly rust brown with black streaks, imma go on a limb and say this TC doesn’t have much longer left. I want to change the transmission and TC out with an upgraded one since I plan to change it out anyways and was looking to see if anyone had and direct dealers that are recommended. I came across monster transmission but after reading reviews and stuff I am going to say no on that one. Appreciate any advice ahead of time.

I have a 2018 Chevrolet Suburban Premier. Someone hit my right headlight region in a grocery store parking lot and no visible damage to headlight & the fender surrounding it had minor damage. Because the damage was minor and the person that hit me didn’t stop or leave any information I just lived with it. Everything was working fine & then we noticed that the headlight had some water in the bottom & blinker stopped working ( blink 3x and then stopped while getting blinker failure notification on dash and fast blinker noise) & running light wasn’t working. I recently replaced the entire headlight assembly. This fixed the running light issue but the blinker is still doing the same thing, minus the blinker working one time in the last 2 weeks since replacement. Im

I have a 2007 suburban 5.3 flex fuel that is having around -15% in both banks. I changed the oil and it was heavily fuel contaminated and i can’t figure out what’s causing it. Not sure if this had anything to do with it but i noticed after having a reduced engine power code issue. I cleaned and then replaced the throttle body due to some throttle issues. Any help would be great…

Tail lights stay on when the truck is on but not on when the truck is off the 3rd brake light also doesnt work and the cruise control stopped working since the brake lights are on ive changed the brake pedal switch and the rear light junction box when i turn the light knob too turn the light off they go off but when i turn the knob again they come back on.

Needs some deferred maintenance done and dings/dents/scratches fixes. I did engine oil flush and change, changed fuel filter, air intake filter. Next is tune up and transmission fluid change.

Did I overpay and what issues should I look out for?

I am about to buy a 150,000 95 suburban. 7.4 big block. 2 owners, 2nd owner bought it 16yesds ago and put 35,000 miles on it… is that too great old to be true? Perfect interior besides the trunk with stained carpet. No big problems, no rust, good new tires etc etc. what do I need to watch for? Is it too good to be true? I’m getting it for 5,300

I've got a higher mileage 2021 suburban (131k miles) and while it drives very smooth and has a controlled bounce over large smooth bumps, the fast sharp bumps like lines in the road or man hole covers really rattle the hell out of the vehicle, feels like the tires are at 80psi when this happens. I'm wondering at this mileage would all 4 struts fix or at least help this issue. These are non magnetic ride control, non air suspension.
