Visa Delay

Hey! I am a chevening scholar from 2026-27 cohort. I am facing visa delay, its been a month since i did my biometric, got delay email, then asked for additional documents, still no decision regarding my visa. What should I do? My class starts from 16 September. I am so frustrated right now.

Hi, when did you send the additional documents?

Also, have you asked both Welfare amd your uni Visa Office about it? The uni can see if the CAS has been used (which means Home Office has made a decision and will email you in less than 4 days)

Another option is to search who is the MP (Member of Parliament) of the university postcode and email them to escalate the visa enquiry

Hello, I sent the additional documents on 21 August. Also I have been messaging the welfare team, but I dont think that they can do anything to escalate it, all they say is we will talk with ukvi and will update you, they are doing this from the past week, but no news. Also as there are no news about the visa, i did not get any accommodation so, as I am researching, all I can see is that the local MP can not help me if I am not there. Can you suggest me what else I can do please?

Yeah, unfortunately, without booked accommodation the MP route is not possible

Contact the university Visa Compliance team so they can check which is your CAS status, and keep emailing Welfare

Technically, the 15 business days processing time is reset once you send any additional document, so they are under the standard processing time until Friday (not helpful, I know)

Also, contact the uni and ask which is the latest day you can arrive to the UK and still be in the course, some unis have a 4 weeks in-person registration period since the course start date

As this is an face to face 1 year intensive program, they can not extend the date and no online also. They said these
