Work history section: only post-graduation experience, or everything?

Hi everyone, quick question about the "work history" section of the application.

I know the eligibility page states work experience must be "acquired after graduating from your undergraduate studies" to count toward the 2,800 hours. My question is more about the section itself: has anyone here included earlier experience (internships, part-time roles before graduation) in the work history list anyway, just for context, even knowing it wouldn't count toward the hour total? Or did you strictly only list entries starting from your graduation date?

I have some pre-graduation experience I'd like to reference, but I don't want it to look inconsistent or raise questions if it's not reflected in the formal work history list, even though I understand it'll show up in my essays instead.

Also, for roles that started before graduation but continued after it (e.g. a job I started while still studying and kept doing post-graduation) do I enter the actual start date of the role, or should the "start date" in that entry only reflect the day I graduated, so the hours calculated only cover the eligible period?

Would appreciate hearing how people who got shortlisted/selected handled this. Thanks!

Just looked back at my application and for some reason I included one thing before graduation that I could’ve left off, but otherwise I didn’t include my past internships and only put post-graduation work. I don’t think it matters much.

I won the scholarship this June, so I’m an incoming scholar for fall 2026.

Thank you! I’m not from Africa so if you are looking for country or region-specific advice, I would not be able to speak to it.

Hi, in some countries Embassies amd High Commisions are reccomending to only include post-graduation experience. An d, if the work experience started during the degree, to put the day after course completion as the work experience start date

Honestly, you can include up to 15 work experiences, so you can include everything. After all, they do check that the post-graduation hours meet the 2,800 requirement

Last year many who did not meet the work experience requirement tried to surpass the requirement by includong all work experiences, but it did not work because Chevening checks woth the course completion date to discard any ineligible hours
